gkidman 0 Posted November 11, 2009 GARY KIDMAN DEAR PEOPLE I HAD INSTALLED HEAVEN AND HELL SOMETIME BACK NOW AND HAVE ENJOYED IT IMMENSELY. I HAVE ALSO BEING VISITING THE DOWNLOADS SECTION FOR OFF, AND MY INTEREST HAS BEEN LOOKING AT THE SKINS. I AM ASTOUNDED AT THE NUMBER OF SKINS THAT THERE WERE AND THE WORK DONE BY PEOPLE IN PRODUCING SUCH BEUTIFUL ARTWORK, I TAKE MY HAT OFF TO THEM. I DID NOT REALISE AT THE LARGE NUMBER OF GERMAN ACES THEIR ACTUALLY WERE AND SUCH A NUMBER HAVING THEIR OWN IDENTITY. I HAVE BEEN DOWNLOADING THESE SKINS AND WOULDLIKE TO EVENTUALLY FORM A SORT OF GRAPHICAL DATABASE WITH SKIN AND PILOT TO ADD TO THE EXPERIENCE IN SELECTING CERTAIN ACES IN DOGFIGHTS. THE QUESTION I WOULD LIKE TO ASK IS, IF INSTALLING SUCH A VAST AMOUNT OF SKINS WOULD AT SOME POINT SLOW THE LOADING OF THE SIMULATION, AND IF SO, IS THERE A UTILITY AT ALL WHICH WOULD ENABLE ME TO SWAP THE SKINS IN AND OUT OF THE SIMULATION. I WOULD BE VERY INTERESTED IN ANY FEEDBACK ON THIS: REGARDS GARYKIDMAN garykidman@hotmail.co.uk
Olham 164 Posted November 11, 2009 Hey, Gary It must be pretty hard for the skinners of OFF, to read your post. Because it sounds, as if it was only some other people's contributions, that provide you with an incredible amount of ace skins. That is not true. I highly recommend to you, to get the freeware "DXTBmp", and to browse through the great fund of about 3.000 skins made for OFF by OvS (James Romano), "Paarma" Kartunen, "Makai", "Sandbagger" and earlier on, "Rabu" and "Capt.Winters" (hope I got them all - sorry for not knowing all your real names). It was absolutely unnecessary to create the ace skins again, as these skinners search high and low even for the least known photographs, in the attempt to provide us with all individual skins you might find in any documents. I have provided own phantasy creations, together with other hobby skinners, but ALL OF THOSE where made from parts I got with the original OFF skins. So, instead of seeing through the downloads, please get DXTBmp, and browse through this cornucopia of skins - and enjoy them as much as I do. Have fun, and blue skies! Olham 164 Posted November 11, 2009 PS: of course you can still go through the downloads then. I think, you'll get what I mean, once you saw the original pile.

Olham 164 Posted November 12, 2009 Gary, I'm sure they wheren't offended - rather disappointed or even sad about the fact, that their skinning works are not so obviously noticed, until you pick new skins each sortie, or you get that program and browse through them. Not your fault, and I only wrote the above to make you and everyone else, who didn't know, take notice of the huge amount of available skins in OFF. And now I hope you will enjoy it all at least half as much as I do! Welcome!
