RCAF_Dudley 0 Posted December 26, 2009 My HUD Gauges have recently lost resolution and now look fuzzy. The rest of the display is fine, but they remain grainy. Changing them or turning the gauges off and on doesn't fix it and I don't think it's my alcohol consumption. Does anyone have suggestions as to what files need to be replaced or checked to correct this? BTW: Merry Christmas All!
Olham 164 Posted December 26, 2009 Now you say it: I tried the yellow brackets yesterday, and they looked very raw indeed. Must check for the HUD Gauges.
sitting_duck 3 Posted December 26, 2009 the guages themselves are in your aircraft\shared folder. (hud_guages.dds). if you need a viewer for dds files, you can get it here. This is shareware, so there should be no problem posting the link.. http://72.93.71.147:192/pub/ddsview0663a.zip The manner in which these guages get displayed is in documents and setting\xxxxxx\applicationdata (appdat in vistsa)\microsoft\cfsww1 over flanders fields\viewui.xml. But,,i think the only thing you can change here is the size of the guages...and not how sharp they are.
Flyby PC 23 Posted December 26, 2009 Isn't fuzzy guages just a detail sliders issue? Forget which slider in particular....
Flyby PC 23 Posted December 26, 2009 Guages with sliders on 5 vs sliders on 2. Check out your sliders RCAF Dudley.
Olham 164 Posted December 27, 2009 Which slider does it - some can't move all to 5.
Flyby PC 23 Posted December 27, 2009 I THINK it's aircraft detail, but I'm not 100% sure. I'd need to run to some tests. Aircraft sounds most logical, but this is CFS3 country so it might be Terrain, scenery, or effects. I'm reasonably sure it's not Clouds. It doesn't have to be set on 5 either, I sure 4 delivers sharp guages, and I'm reasonably sure 3 is OK as well. You can also change your sliders through the workshop, or running the config. Olham 164 Posted December 27, 2009 You might be right - I have the aircraft slider on 5, and my gauges look right. But that yellow bracket/target marker is very raw, and I wonder which slider might be for that...
+Winder 32 Posted December 27, 2009 You might be right - I have the aircraft slider on 5, and my gauges look right. But that yellow bracket/target marker is very raw, and I wonder which slider might be for that... I did not think anyone used that - its a bit of original CFS3 - I can overhaul it if enough people say so but IMO its not worth using at all. A slider will not make it better - its a s**te texture WM
Olham 164 Posted December 27, 2009 No need to overhaul that, Winder - I normally never use it, and for occasional use it still does what it should.
