TrackIR versions and memory questions

Well I guess I was a Goood Boy this year since Santa remembered me very well.

I am considering the TrackIR and am wondering if the TrackIR5 is that much better than the TrackIR4 for the added money?

 

Also I am curious if adding two GB more of memory would be any value in OFF?

Right now I am using XP Pro with

2 GB of Kingston PC3200 DDR Ram memory,

2 nVIDIA GeForce6800 256MB cards,

AMD Socket 939Athon 64 4000+ 2.4GHz processor

AFAIK TrackIR5 is not much better. Only better more FOV, resolution and a better design. It will make a huge difference? I think not.

Concerning the memory upgrade, if you're not contemplating in buying soon a new rig, I'd say, yes make a 1GB upgrade in your RAM (XP 32bits will only address up into 3GB). But it won't be a night and day difference.

Having experienced TIR 4 and TIR 5, I do like the 5 , as it seems more interactive, and easier to sort out settings. Above all, get the Pro Clip too.
