Help please. Single INTERCEPT MSN

Recommended Posts

Guest Eject

Snr. Modders like Wrench and others, I would hi-ly appreciate ur help on which dot inis I can twiddle, in order that I encounter more frequent heavy bombers to intercept?

I am in WOE with IsrelMe, Israel 2, Suez 2, Taiwan, ANW, GermanyCE Terrains (Suez 2 problem again since I moved it to C, brought back to E, and only the USAF/Israel side planes and ground objects SINK again!).

I have in my Aircraft sub-folder under Object, the B-52 and the later ones, also the C-130 family belonged ti Libya (cammo), USAF the "Thor: Gunship, the Aussie C-130 A or H.

I recalled reading an answer of a sr. modder here, and have saved it, yet has not found it yet in one of sub-folders, on how to see more populated airbases. I.E., doing some twiddleing upon some inis. Could u help plese just point to which inis under which sub-folders or folder in the WOE??

Thanks to all, and definitely to our -- now getting cool -- Wrench! C ya all later....

you will need to consult the knowledgebase as well as the readme if included

example i use taiwan terrain and it uses the desert.cat of series 1 you will need to extract it and find the different airfields.ini and check or edit your parking chance for each airbase type and then repack it back to the xyz.cat and then run the game for single mission user created

don't know what you are talking about but if u mean populating airbase with aircraft then this is your answer and again consult the knowledgebase as it will help you , do a search it will help .

enjoy

Thanks a lot, will do it later tonight. BTW, I just installed Wrench's add-on, the ASW.

There is in ASW_Sytem.ini, added lines with WW-2 Planes to add in the Terrain.

So, I changed just two modern bomber, i.e., Libya's C-13--J, and the USAF B-52G. I just tested fly over it, and saw two of them, the Herc belong to Libya sitting on our tarmac when I took off.

Will add some more in my enemy (USAF/NATO/Israel), only in this game, those USAF/USN/IAF/Ausie planes-Choppers

Okay, lets try a logical answer.

In every terrain, either within the CAT file it references or within the terrain's folder, there are several files that have specific airfield information. As an example, for VietnamSEA, you'll see files called VIETNAMSEA_AIRFIELD1.INI, VIETNAMSEA_AIRFIELD2.INI, etc. Within those files are entries that talk about where the taxispots, parking spots, and lights are for the airfield.

As an example:

ParkingChance=70

ParkingMaxSpan=18.0

Parking[01].Heading=180

Parking[01].Offset=129.60,1644.39

Parking[02].Heading=225

Parking[02].Offset=295.22,1606.69

Parking[03].Heading=315

Parking[03].Offset=624.30,-524.20

Parking[04].Heading=315

Parking[04].Offset=517.82,-631.71

Parking[05].Heading=315

Parking[05].Offset=410.63,-738.29

Parking[06].Heading=135

Parking[06].Offset=277.24,-605.11

Parking[07].Heading=135

Parking[07].Offset=384.25,-497.99

Parking[08].Heading=135

Parking[08].Offset=491.13,-390.98

Parking[09].Heading=45

Parking[09].Offset=491.79,751.22

Parking[10].Heading=45

Parking[10].Offset=384.73,858.12

Parking[11].Heading=45

Parking[11].Offset=277.25,964.88

Parking[12].Heading=225

Parking[12].Offset=410.93,1098.66

Parking[13].Heading=225

Parking[13].Offset=518.11,991.57

Parking[14].Heading=225

Parking[14].Offset=624.85,884.29

Parking[15].Heading=270

Parking[15].Offset=693.15,-12.87

Parking[16].Heading=270

Parking[16].Offset=693.15,527.74

LargeParkingChance=10

LargeParkingMaxSpan=48.0

LargeParking[01].Heading=180

LargeParking[01].Offset=316,-858

LargeParking[02].Heading=180

LargeParking[02].Offset=485,-858

LargeParking[03].Heading=0

LargeParking[03].Offset=537,-1198

LargeParking[04].Heading=0

LargeParking[04].Offset=485,-1198

LargeParking[05].Heading=0

LargeParking[05].Offset=433,-1198

LargeParking[06].Heading=0

LargeParking[06].Offset=329,-1198

LargeParking[07].Heading=270

LargeParking[07].Offset=402,242

LargeParking[08].Heading=270

LargeParking[08].Offset=402,190

LargeParking[09].Heading=270

LargeParking[09].Offset=402,138

LargeParking[10].Heading=270

LargeParking[10].Offset=402,21

LargeParking[11].Heading=270

LargeParking[11].Offset=402,-31

LargeParking[12].Heading=270

LargeParking[12].Offset=402,-83

Note the entries in bold. This allows you to not only determine the likelyhood of seeing parked aircraft, but how big those parked aircraft can be. You can even (for you advanced modders) change the locations of where they are parked. This might be useful for custom airfields.

Also, there is only ONE reason to EVER attempt a repack of a CAT file, and that is if you trying to build a non-traditional merged install of the first generation of ThirdWire sims (SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI) - say trying to make a SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI combo install. Otherwise, there is NO reason to ever try this, especially not for the SF2/V/E/I series (Generation 2). It is very easy to end up screwing up something if you attempt it.
