reevalued the napale run aar movie seems as the flames are more persistane which is great if you ever saw a "foogas" or nalpam drop it last a while.

and an Ex pilot has already pointed out about the first stage still being on the sam(should have dropped off after laucnh), but things are looking up. just dont know when.

FROM THE POSTING AT SIMHQ

 

 

Just an update on the status of the current beta/patch version... (Keep in mind that this is a work in progress and any details I give are subject to change by TK...)

Bad news: Currently, there are issues that are keeping it from being released. (CTD related...)

Good news: There are lots of new things happening with Strike Fighters.

Most of the special effects are now in place.

The 2000lb bomb produces a very nice explosion, complete with horizontal shock wave.

Naplam now boils up and rolls along the ground. Smoke from bomb hits is more obvious and persistent.

Explosions now have new partical effects.

The often requested 45 degree up view is in place.

Aircraft flight models have been "adjusted" with a higher roll rate. The F100 is not the dog it used to be in the early release... The Mig17 is not the ultra hot rod either...

Alt-N work well now.... and lots of other little details... So, no patch just yet, but TK and crew are working on it...

Rolling napalm...

SAM's are coming on-line, and AAA is deadly on the 2nd run-in.

Smoke from bomb & rocket hits are larger and more persistant, so on a follow on run it

will be easier to see where the 1st weapons impacted.

Look for your #2 to make a bombing run on ground mobiles, read tanks!

It's getting there. Just a few more bugs to hammer out yet...

(all bombs and rockets have some sort of shockwave)

hummmmmph the night attack in the new patched game seems to bright.and saw nothing noticable in the sidewinder footage,but the rest look oh so good!

I'm with you PhantomWarrior, when I saw that SAM strike on that phantom, I couldnt stop wringing my hands thinking..."This is gonna be cool!...This is gonna be cool!".
