It reminds me of the story of Corporal John Spillane (USMC), a baseball star for St-Louis, who while aboard a LVT during the invasion of Betio (Nov.1943) managed to catch and throw back two Jap handgrenades, before a third one exploded in his hand. Surely ended his career, but what a feat!
