Olham Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Widow, as I see your constant sorrows about not having a Snipe, here is a painting ar least. Hope, Russel Smith won't mind - this and so many more can be found in the Galleries over at the Aerodrome's "WW1 Aviation Art Gallery": http://www.theaerodrome.com/gallery/ Quote
UK_Widowmaker Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Great Picture!..Barker's Snipe too...thanks Olham Quote
Check Six Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I swear I had nothing to do with this apart from posting the pic (which already makes me a target to UK_Widowmaker). I recently undertook to scan all the Society's negatives, and found this amongst them, just after reading the post by UK_W about the plant at Ham. Quote
Olham Posted March 18, 2010 Author Posted March 18, 2010 My god, each time I see the thin wires or the way rope held something together, I really wonder how they dared to get up in these crates! Does anyone know, why the wheel spokes were always covered with linnen? Quote

Does anyone know, why the wheel spokes were always covered with linnen? I believe it was simply to keep the mud out. I don't think that anyone thought it would improve the aerodynamics or reduce drag. Quote
Morris Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 the rope is there to tie urself up after capture. It will be great to have snipes in P4 so we can shoot the crap out of them. m Quote
Olham Posted March 18, 2010 Author Posted March 18, 2010 Bordeauxred Baron: I'm afraid, gentlemen, you vill only experience, how different - or nott - itt may feel, to be shott down in a Snipe instead of a Camel! Mmuahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!! Quote
UK_Widowmaker Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Morris / Olham How do you like your Kraut? Fried or mashed?...or of course, with Twin Vickers... You could always be served up to the Kaiser Shredded! Don't let anyone accuse the Krumpets of not giving the Huns freedom of Choice! Quote
Olham Posted March 18, 2010 Author Posted March 18, 2010 Yeah yeah yeah - you're so generous with tax money! Quote
