HMS Brilliante finally fires

Recommended Posts

And?????

The SeaWolf WAS designed as a shipboard SAM, and the Type 22s to mount them. They also carried Harpoons for their SSMs, Goalkeeper CWIS (but we don't have one -- but a real good ini dancer could 'fake in' the Vulcans off the M-163 and their turrets to use -one fore, one aft, each with 180 degree hemispherical engagement zones)

Those wimpy 40mm L-60s also need replacing ... I'd reccomend swapping them out for Mk.12 5 inchers w/1000 rnds each, as those already exist in the gundata. Not quite the same as the 4.5s, but close enough for gaming work. Which looses the close-in AA mounts, but see above

Actually, being a Batch 1 (or 2 I can't remember it's just a difference in hull length) Brilliant would have had Exocet rather than Harpoon, no 4.5" gun and no Goalkeeper. They only came in on the Batch 3. I think they had 30mm crew served guns, which were then swapped for 20mm when the RN tried to standardise on ammo types, although it may have been the other way round as it's changed again since!!

SkippyBing, being our Resident RN Expert, is correct .. I must have been reading on Batch 3s!

2 30mm mounts seems AWFULLY light armament for a firgate! Mabye I just come from the "Big Gun School of Thought" ! (5" and UP!!)

2 Bacht In the big difference is in the bow,

which is more slender, giving better performance in rough seas.

During the war of 82, had big problems with the South Seas,

the corvettes have much pitching

when navigating with waves up to 7 or 8 meters as is common in these areas.

It is also clear that with the Seawolf mounts and 20mm AA guns, was insufficient for proper air cover.

That's why they sack the Exocet and placed them super quick-firing guns.

I'm currently working on the FF-19 Almirante Williams Ex HMS Sheffield (F96) Batch 2.

This ship just under 8 or 9 month was under intense mid-life upgrade.

It currently has two types missile launcher VLS Rafael Barak-1.

It also has anti-ship missiles

Harpoon RGM/UGM-84D. and other anti-submarine systems

I do not understand what was your problem, because in the folder that I uploaded.

There is one called "Weapon" in it, you will find a LOD.

The name GWS25 Seawolf. That goes in your wallet

Weapon.

Besides that there is a text document. With the entry of Weapon for

Weapon Data INI.

Excuse me SUICIDAL! A mistake on my part. What happened was that I red about the Seawolf a week ago, and didn't realize it belongs to the SAM category. Worst enough, I was confused by EF2000 - EuroFighter 2000 and its armament, the SeaEagle that was. SeaEagle, as we all understand is a subsonic Anti-Ship missile which is air-launched from the EuroFighter and operates under skimming mode and homes in to the target by active-radar tracking.

But your data has created the Seawolf as a Anti-Air as well as Anti-Ship weapon, unless I have made a mistake. It does attack a Cargo ship as well as an enemy aircraft, I have already tested that out over and over again. It won't hit the ship correctly though. It just fires again and again and the missile dips into the sea!? I changed the loft angle and it still won't do. After many tests, it is the guidance parameter. Yours original work is "Semi-Active Radar". I changed that to "Heat-Seeking" and it does both the aircraft and the ship. But this modification is only for testing how your script works. I will not use that in real mission drafting.

Marcos, what effect did you use for that missile? I mean, the trail of smoke.
