Morris 2 Posted May 17, 2010 Gentlemen, Sorry for asking again about the above topic. My HD with OFF installed is giving problems. I need to reinstall windows and OFF. Please, is there a secure way of backing up the pilot files. Please Please. Thanking you in advance. Morris
Olham 164 Posted May 17, 2010 Write to Herr Prop-Wasche - he made a backup program for just this case. And check the downloads section for it. Here it is: http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/10890-offuserbackupfiles-program/
Herr Prop-Wasche 7 Posted May 17, 2010 If in the process of re-installing windows you need to reformat your hard drive, be sure to first save the MyOFFBackupFiles folder to an external storage device.
Morris 2 Posted May 18, 2010 Thanks for the great program HPW. It saved my DID pilot. but the program did not copy the "pilot claims" file over? Did i do something wrong? M
Herr Prop-Wasche 7 Posted May 19, 2010 Ah, I didn't test whether the pilot claims get saved or not. My guess is that my program does not currently save your claims. I'll check and see if I can remedy that or not, but don't get your hopes up.
Herr Prop-Wasche 7 Posted May 23, 2010 Eureka! Well, not really eureka, but I have found you can backup your claims file after all. Each pilot should have a file called Pilot[x]Claims.txt in the same place as the other pilot files. I will have a revised version of my backup program with this addition available for download on Monday.
Morris 2 Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) THANX HPW, the claims are very very important. Its a great little program you wrote and it works like a charm. Cheers Morris Edited May 24, 2010 by Morris
Herr Prop-Wasche 7 Posted May 24, 2010 Ahhh, wern't nuthin'! Actually, it was very simple to write, once I got the DOS terminology down. The update should now be available on the downloads forum.
