Sertting process priorities

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I saw recent threads regards how to set process priorities in Windows Task manager. Some responses stated that you can override the default setting, but once you restart the PC these values revert to the original settings, meaning that you'd need to set these each boot cycle.

I've come across a free utility called 'Prio', which allows you set set resource priorities, but will remember these settings each time you reboot or cold start your PC.

Once installed I noticed that the OFF exe and TrackIR5 exe were not listed in the task manager. So I started each in turn and once running, hit CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the task manager. Then right click on the exe and select 'Set Priority'. Set the priority and OK. You'll get the expected MicroSoft warning about changing settings.

That's it basically. If you check then or restart your PC and check, you'll find the priority is still as you set it.

I'm no IT expert but if you think it might help, download from this link:
