Sledge 0 Posted December 29, 2002 I am mostly a fan of air combat sims and to a lesser extent civilian sims, but I've always been fascinated by the Apollo program and space shuttle operations. Does anyone out there know if there is, in existence or development, a sim that would be believable? I've used microsoft's space sim, (an old dos based program) but it was not exactly what I was looking for. (Too much of a "game") X-plane's shuttle missions are fun, but the cockpit is not true to the real thing, and there is nothing about the Apollo program in X-plane at all. I'm talking about a real mission simulator, from pre-launch to TLI to LOI, lunar landing, and return to earth. If it does not exist someone should do this! Anyone else interested? MadJeff 3 Posted December 29, 2002 Have you ever checked out Orbiter? http://www.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/~martins/orbit/orbit.html It's a pretty realistic sim, at least I would assume, since I always manage to spread my atoms across the planet during re-entry... Sledge 0 Posted December 29, 2002 Is this a fairly new sim? I've never heard of it. Where can I get it? If you can die that easy, it must be good! Does it have a convincing cockpit and visuals? Ah, so many questions!
