Cameljockey Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I've been looking for a motherboard to replace my 680i and would really appreciate any suggestions. Something that supports LGA 775 processors(1333fsb), PCIe 2.0, and memory faster than DDR2 800, which is what I'm using now. I plan on using my Intel E8500 and GTX280 so it would have to support both. I'm operating on a tight budget so $150 US is about my limit as of now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Quote
Bossco82 Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I had that exact processor and GPU running in a Asus P5Q Deluxe. My E8500 was clocked to 4ghz without any issues. I only replaced it when I upgraded to an icore system. I tried a few LGA775 boards at that time and it was the best by far. Quote
UK_Widowmaker Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I have the Asus P5Q also...a great board... I swear I will never buy another Gigabyte Mobo...both personally, and professionally...had nowt but issues with them Quote
TSmoke Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I use the exact same board as the 2 guys posted previous. Have been using it for the past 3 and 1/2 years. Never ever had an issue with it. Had an Intel board prior it was a POS. Quote
Cameljockey Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 Thanks for the tips guys. To tell you the truth, I have been leaning toward the P5Q and will probably go ahead with that. With the advent of the i series processors, the LGA 775 boards are getting cheaper, but also, less plentiful. Quote
