Pain in the neck ATI drivers

Recommended Posts

annoying thing is that after a few re-installations of Windows and the ATI drivers, finally found that 9.12 is the most optimal for my 4870. 10.X drivers lock the frame rates below 70. with 9.12 frame rate now soars to over 100 and some times 200 for clear sky no clouds. but this happens when playing in windowed mode.

By the way, which anyone got the same experience?

Fuza, I am thinking about dumping my Nvidia card and going to ATI. I've had a horrific experience with the GTX 460 1024MB PCIe card I bought and Nvidia's driver mess didn't help anything. I currently reverted back to a PNY 9800GT, but feel it's a little sub-par performance and was looking for some feedback on how you enjoy the card now and any suggestions you might have on some ATI cards...thanks if you or others have any feedback to share.

I have 4850HD using 10.12 drivers with no problems...

Never heard about any kind of fps lock unless you use V-sync :dntknw:

Same here, 4850, first generation.

She's a mean machine too, won't get another VGA that soon.
