F9F-5 Panther for SF2.RAR

PASKO's, Column5's and Marcello's Grumman F9F-5 Panther.

 

All I did was modifying it for use in SF2.

 

Changes made:

 

1) Changed the pit to the standard A-4B pit.

2) changed the loadout to weapons available in version of juni SF2 (no EXP or anything added).

3) Replaced the original skin of VMF-331 by one made by Wrench. This skin fits the plane best. The other skins show gaps along the back of the plane and on the nose. Hope he doesn't mind. I did not ask specific permission to use his skin.

3) There is an error with LOD3. It shows the nose cone perpendicular to the plane. I solved this by removing lod3.

4) Animation. Wingfold is active use shift 1.

 

 

That's it. All other credits go to the orignal builders of this beautifull plane.

 

The original readme is attached below.

 

To install, just drop the files in the '[Drive]:\Users\[name]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2'.

Hmm where did you get the terrain in the background?

looks like my screenie over the KAW terrain (as a matter of fact, it is - from my 311 skin pak)

 

wonder if he 'fixed' the weapons issue with the wing-fold, as they don't follow the wing, and don't remain attached to their hardpoint when the wing articulates. and are way off otherwise. The main reason I didn't do for one the upgrade pak I did.

 

wonder how much came from this pak?

Hoi Wrench,

 

The picture is indeed from the VMF311 skin pack. I only have SF2 dessert terrain. And no I did not fx the issue with the wingfolding. The weapons still hang in the air. I used the panter as is available at Column5 site. I wasn't aware of your update. Is it worth it to use that in stead?

Yes. Read the readme taht come with it, and it'll explain a LOT.

 

BTW, there's a new -2 version, WITH correct cockpit coming with the KAW Mod, too.

Hi Wrench.

 

Saw the Panter with the KAW mod. But I love that plane so much I just couldn't wait for it! LOL.

 

I'll check it out and see if I make version 1.1.
