Since the Expansions, I've noticed a large loss in FPS when the TV/FLIR screen comes on. I thought it might just be a MOD messing things up, but on a stock install, I'm still slowing way down.

Any ideas?

Go into the Avioincs.ini and find the available Modes. and delete the "TV" notation as I've had the same problem and now since I delete that there is some stutter but not as bad before. I assume the "TV" has become redundant through the patching.

Thanks Eric, but this didn't help. I'm using a stock F-16A Netz and it did not have the TV listed under the RadarMode. I've tried changing the bmp to a tga, adding it directly to the cockpit folder an many other various edits. It seems that something was done to this feature in the patches. I just can't figure out what.

Maybe I'll just take a break from the TW sims for a long while.

Thanks.

Using the TV to guide weapons does cause some fps hit. I found slightly widening the weapons POV limits how much it affects the FPS hit.

Put it this way I now have a Sandybridge based system overclocked to 4.6 GHz and its the first system i've built that will allow me to bomb Hanoi in SF2V with a LGB using the TV in a F4-E without having a FPS hit.

Thirdwire claim its from using high graphic settings, because the ground object your targeting is rendered twice, other than that I have no solution for you, sorry bud.
