ThomasDWeiss Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 I posted this at SimHQ and I though it would be interesting to share this with you guys, I did an ATI 800PRO x ATI9800PRO Benchmark (3DMARK03) test. Same system - I only changed the card (AA and AF set at app pref) 9594 Date: 2004-10-01 CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2800 MHz GPU: ATI RADEON X800 473 MHz / 446 MHz OS: Microsoft Windows XP Res: 1024x768@32 bit 5624 Date: 2004-04-23 CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2800 MHz GPU: ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 378 MHz / 338 MHz OS: Microsoft Windows XP Res: 1024x768@32 bit
+BUFF Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 But how often do you play 3DMark? ;) Fps/image quality is where it's at .... :)
+Fates Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 My limited mind has seen on the internet where the only real difference between the 9800 and x800 was simply image quality, not FPS....is that somewhat true, or could you lower the image quality down to 9800 quality to gain more FPS? <C> Fates
ThomasDWeiss Posted October 2, 2004 Author Posted October 2, 2004 I am just starting to use it, but FPS is higher no doubts. I will post later on a thread with screenshots from a mission that I made that I know to be particularly FPS challenging, then we will see.
ThomasDWeiss Posted October 2, 2004 Author Posted October 2, 2004 this sequence is quite telling, the sky is overcast and if there is a frame killer it is flares and explosions `
