hotrodss Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Just flew a mission in WOE_NF4, launched all missiles at 1 enemy a/c I locked up and ALL 8 missiles failed to track. Question is; Will changing the values (Accuracy, Lock-on Chance, Noise Rejection, CM Rejection & Target Aspect..to name a few) for the early AIM-9s & AIM-7s to higher values make them perform like later versions? i.e. AIM-9L -P & AIM-7F -M. FastCargo Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Well, if you want them to perform like later models, you could simply copy over all the relevant lines from the later models (except the lines that refer to the physical LOD file, such as the dimensions, model name, exhaust position, etc). However, you may want to consider that you were not putting the misslies into proper parameters...or you were having a random chance bad day. The closer you leave it to realistic settings, the better idea you have of what it might have been like trying to fly and fight in your chariot of choice. Otherwise, you're basically playing an arcade game if you arm yourself with weapons from the future.... FC Quote
hotrodss Posted February 14, 2011 Author Posted February 14, 2011 Yeah FC I know it would be arcadish, but it's very frustrating when ALL of you missiles go "stupid" and you have to shoot down enemy bombers with your gun while being chased by their escorts...oh wait, that's what TOP GUN & AGRESSOR SQD was for...nevermind. Stick Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) I've done Operation Bolo like that and then I discovered I didn't have a gun. While the MiGs did. Edited February 14, 2011 by Stick Quote
Lt. James Cater Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Odds are you were doing something wrong. Once you really get experienced with the missles you'll be able to score more often than not. Even your wingmen can become aces if you order them to engage in a situation where they can work the envelope. Quote
