Weapons question.

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I'm new to Wings over Israel.

I was wondering how to install weapons.

I downloaded from here a few jets like F16I and a pack of weapons came with it.

How do I install them?

thanks

First of all welcome!

Second this topic could explain it better and easier than I could:

http://combatace.com/forum/189-adding-weapons/

Even then the golden rule is to always add them in sequential order which should be covered in that forum. And of course when you edit a weapon always SAVE as it'll update the weapondata.ini and weapondata.dat file.

Hi, thank you for welcoming me.

I downloaded a pack of weapons that came with an F-16I skin, now I created a "Weapons" folder, in:Objects\Aircraft.

And inside this folder I have the weapons like Python 4 etc.

But I can't use those games in-gamely.

Can you assist ?

You don't put it in the Aircraft folder you put it in the Objects/Weapons folder.

You don't put it in the Aircraft folder you put it in the Objects/Weapons folder.

I don't have any Weapons folder.

I also tried putting it in my Objects folder but still... nothing happened.

I downloaded now.

Should I unzip them to the Weapons folder?

And then what?

There are 4 files btw.

WeaponEditor.ini.

WeaponEditor.exe.

WeaponData.bat.

WeaponData.ini

You can download it to there but usualy I put it outside of that folder as it'll "remember" where you started it from. And I have email alerts when you post so you don't have to worry about me not helping you out.

But a very good link to see is this:

http://combatace.com/topic/9323-adding-weapons-to-sfwovwoe-a-tutorial/

Even if you're not adding weapons like the tutorial you have to click on SAVE so the game will recognize the data.

Okay... put the weapondata.ini in the main Objects folder

What version of Wings Over Israel do you have? and what weapons editor do you have?

Uh.. I really dont know what version I have.

I have the regular one..

Weapon Data Editor v04.24.06

That's the version I have.

I've put all of the files in a folder I created called "Weapons", inside "Objects" folder.

But I can't also start the the Weapons program itself while it's inside the folder, only when it's zipped I can.

It doesn't have the WeaponData.ini file.

And I don't have on installation, I never had it.

Okay no problem. You're basically going to have to download a weapons pack in order to get a weapondata.ini that you can add the weapons to. It's in the Strike FIghters 1 Downloads section.

You install it to your Wings Over Israel install, it has instructions to follow.

Yeah well I just don't know what to download..

The packs are for Guided bombs etc...

I don't find an entire pack like I suppose I should download?

Bunyap's is a good pack to download, it has a lot of things you'll probably look for anyways so download that, install it, then add the weapons from the F-16 you downloaded and things should work.

I couldn't find it... I downloaded something else called Weapons Pack 2.52 by the WO*/SFP1 Community

I hope that's fine.
