+Olham Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I just went through the French squadrons on search for the "reepers" I had met earlier today. Down the list, I came to Escadrilles flying the Nieuport N24. I began to wonder - I had never seen those in anyone's combat reports or screenshots. So: does anyone fly a campaign with any of these: Bristol Scout, N 24; DH-5; E.V (D.VIII); N 28 ? Quote
+Hasse Wind Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I've tried all of those in campaign mode, except the E.V. I've actually flown a lot with all the Nupes. It's just that I never write combat reports. The Nupes are great fighters, all of them. Quote
TaillyHo Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 So: does anyone fly a campaign with any of these: Bristol Scout, N 24; DH-5; E.V (D.VIII); N 28 ? Only the first mentioned (so far). Last pilot managed only 11 hours (but his 10 confirmed victories & 25% accuracy was pleasing). My replacement in that time period (mid 1915) is my first 'adventure' in the Quirk (18 hours, 3 confirmed victories), but if he survives from 1 June to mid-August I intend to transfer to a Scout sqd again. I haven't come across the others you mention because I haven't got that far into the war. Quote
+Olham Posted April 9, 2011 Author Posted April 9, 2011 TaillyHo, you want it the tough way, eyh? Always start again in 1915, until one pilot will survive long enough? I gave that up long ago. Quote
TaillyHo Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Well I know it looks like that, but I'm more interested in getting a favourable 'match' with co-located (in time) opponents, irrespective of the period in the war. Then as I (hopefully) improve as a pilot, I can select more even match-ups as well as moving more towards the SIA settings - until I get to stage where I seek to be the under-dog and have settings at DiD. Well, that's my cunning plan at any rate. If that can happen in something like a chronological progression, that would add to my sense of 'progress', but I realise there will be some jumping around in time - and nationalities! Quote
+Olham Posted April 10, 2011 Author Posted April 10, 2011 Aaaaahhhh - a very cool and complex plan of strategy! Quote
JFM Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I've only had two missions in my DH5 campaign and it's a miracle I survived both. Quote
