MigBuster 2,884 Posted June 17, 2011 What type is the bandit? - if its an F-22 it wont show up at 20 miles Are you using realistic avionics? If so - which radar mode are you using? only RWS or TWS for that range Is the radar on? check OVRD is not highlighted What range is the radar set to? Have you ever seen a radar contact (yellow square)?
Aqua 0 Posted June 17, 2011 its EF2000 typhoon , yes iam using realistic avionics. RWS radar mode ; OVRD is not highlighted and the range is set to 40 nm. I am not sure if the radar is on or off ?? how can I check it ? Yes, sometimes i do see yellow squares and I also able lock on them ; but only sometimes not very often. MigBuster 2,884 Posted June 17, 2011 (edited) Ahhh - for some reason the Typhoon has the same RCS as the F-22 and is a stealth fighter. Can only assume this was the impression they got from the Eurofighter marketing before it was in service Choose the MiG-29 - thats what you will be fighting against AFAIK only the Typhoon has this defect yeah you need to practise getting swift with those cursors - move it over the yellow square and note the altitude reading it gives in case its about to move out of your sweep altitude.
