Title says it all. I can take an FC3 F-15C down to ground level at 250-350 knots and feel like I am going fast without zooming out. I am going to venture that this has to do with the level of detail for the terrain. Who knows? Games sometimes mess with the 3d graphics and/or time scaling. Regardless of how they do it, it looks and feels good.

It's not an easy thing to achieve. Many a sim has suffered from looking like a brisk train at low altitude to simply having almost no discernible detail making it feel more like "floating".

I understand that it has something to do with the "texture noise" that has been implemented since Flanker 2 (which also gives a great sense of speed). I don't recall exactly how it works, but I did notice a difference when it was turned on.
