arthur666 65 Posted April 9, 2013 On the way home from the beach last summer, we needed a pitstop, and an A-6E TRAM beckoned... (sorry about the photo quality: wife point 'n' shoot + driving rain...)

arthur666 65 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) Rainy or not, well looking planes. well kept .... My thoughts too. Must be washed/waxed fairly often. A very nice little museum. We pulled over just to walk around the Intruder, but were pleasantly surprised to find the other planes and museum 100 meters behind it. I will definitely stop again next time we go to Atlantic Beach. http://www.cityofhavelock.com/Departments/Tourist%20Center/TECAviationExhibits.aspx I liked being able to check out all the extra doo-dads on the A-4M from up close. +ST0RM 145 Posted April 10, 2013 Rainy or not, well looking planes. well kept .... Exactly my thoughts too! Great to see the collection in excellent condition unlike so many other mil museums. Funds just arent there to keep everything looking as it should. Thanks for posting. -Jeff

We donated in the "tip jar" when we left. If I lived close to such a museum, I would certainly volunteer if possible. "You mean I get to touch a Phantom... and clean it too? Yes, please." Derk 265 Posted April 10, 2013 Maybe it has to do with the fact that it's Navy stuff, different sort of paint because of a normally rather salty environment ?
