Optimal altitude and distance for guided bombs

What are optimal altitudes and distances for guided bombs delivery?

 

I only know that 500 - 2000 pound guided bombs when released from 20 000 ft and 5 miles from target at around 400 kt true speed will hit the target, and that's the only method I use. I guess that releasing from a very steep dive from any altitude would also put the bomb on target  but that's not how any self concerning virtual pilot would conduct his bombing runs.

This is an old one I did, I can't find my other one, but in a CAS role the 500lb bombs are pretty good.
