Cannot change 'Custom control settings / mapping', SF2, SF2 merged

Somewhere I have lost the ability to map [customize] my control settings for both merged and non-merged SF2/SF2E/SF2I/STF2V.

The mapping change is made, 'saved',  but in the game, the changes made do not function.

I have calibrated my Saitek Cyborg EVO settings without a change seen.

The control default settings appear to reflect my changes.

Any ideas?

Go into your controls folder and move the default.ini away from the controls folder then start the game and let it generate a fresh one, then go back into that folder and make a copy of the new default.ini and rename it Ottopilot.ini...... Or whatever you want to call it, then start up the game and in controls setup use your new profile "ottopilot" instead of the "default" profile.
