New to SF2- optical munitions

Man it's been a looong time since I dropped JDAM but... usually a "Square" (which if my mind serves me right) which is about 5 miles.  Accuracy at the latest patch is always iffy, Usually I drop in Afghanistan and get near 100% hits though, but tha's around 24,000 or therabouts feet.  I'll have to figure out what height as usually it;s by feel rather than always specific parameters, and so on. But usually keep within a "Square" of the target and your hit ration should get much better, and high altitude though in some cases medium altitude works too. DCS is different with the A-10C of course since it's a no brainer in employment.  JDAM bombing in SF2 is more practice than anything concrete to get the bomb to hit.

Cool.... realistically they're not hard to do.  Also if you haven't already, download the SF2 Bombing Range, which is a threat free (unless you tweak it) place to practice weapon delivery, etc.
