Are there any void 3D models out there that one can use to create skins for IL-2 FB? Instead of using the flat template available in the game?

What do you mean? you need a full 3Dmodel to skin it without skin templates being made for you?

I think it could be made but would be very hard to allign them properly so that they result as a single texture in game.

In SF/WOV/WOE planes are made of several sections, some of them intesecting each other for sake of semplicity.
