It is with great sadness to announce the death of Admiral Lyle Bull. Former Commander of Battle Group Alpha, USS Midway 1986-1989 and the original "Flight of the Intruder" who with his pilot LtCdr Charlie Hunter (died 2017) flew the single A-6 intruder mission in 1967 against the heavily defended Railroad Ferry Slip in Hanoi. Admiral Bull is survived by his loving wife Diana, his two naval officer sons who also flew A-6 Intruders and grandchildren.

Of the two Naval officers who greatly influenced my career in the Navy, the Late Terry Toms of VA-115 and Admiral Bull...I still have the book on the old USS Enterprise that Bull gave me on the Midway.

Here's to you Sir...Val Halah receive you warmly. Hail and farewell.
