Flaming Cliffs Patch?

Recommended Posts

There`s a patch in the works for the flaming cliffs addon. My concern is what will be added in comparision to what will be taken away. I enjoy this sim but it seems with every modification something that was working normally before no longer functions afterwards. Example being before FC addon with just LockOn you could in the AG mode select nearest target/and fire, select next target/and fire, select next target again/and fire, soforth and etc:all in one run of the targets with a good percentage of 4-5 hits out of 6. Now with the addon select nearest target/ and fire, good select next target and its a no go the key seems to lockup mometary until you are forced to make another pass. Ok with the dropping of bombs there is a trottle salvo mode that use to allow drop two bombs at a time with the FC addon all are released. These are two features I wish Eagle Dynamics would correct along with some way of getting better frame rates.

Are you referring to the patch that is suppose to fix that err??Starxxx? something (can?t think of the name off-hand) ?copy protection? that they are (or were?) using in the first release of Flaming Cliffs? OR are you referring to the ?new? Black Shark (where they?ve added a Russian helicopter?a ?Havoc? I think?) upgrade? IF you still have the original (or a patched 1.02) version of LOMAC then I would forgo the upgrade to Flaming Cliffs and just upgrade to ?Black Shark? and avoid what is turning into yet another Falcon 4-type ?dance?. And you also mentioned the difference between LOMAC and (some?) patch so are you referring to the 1.x-to-1.02 patch, which fixed a TON of problems in the original release of LOMAC?

IF so, this may NOT be a ?bug? at all but rather (for the SU-27 anyway) the FCS and FCR are doing what the actual systems do in real-life. I agree that, like most ?patches? out there it is always a trade-off: fix one problem, create seven more BUT in this case it may simply be that the weapons system is doing what it is suppose :alcoholic: to do in the REAL aircraft! Eagle did NOT model the N-Series radar very well in the original release of LOMAC (i.e ground-mode in an SU-27??) but this is suppose to be fixed in their Flaming Cliffs version (what SUCKS is, you have to PURCHASE this ?patch? ? it SHOULD be considered a FIX and be provided as such to everyone who purchased LOMAC for free!!!) BUT, if you believe this is a bug I would post on their website and ask this same question there OR contact technical support. Good luck to ya and happy ground-pounding!!
