Tommy2Fast Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Hi. How can I make a planes high altitude performance better? Like the U2, it has a cruise speed of 760 km/h at 22.000 meter. In the game I can do about 250 km/h in that height. Is it "AltitudeTableData=" part? I have change the "maxheight" to 100000 in the FLIGHTENGINE. Anybody knows? Thanx.. Tommy F. Norway. Quote
Gatling20 Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 (edited) Don't forget that the sim displays your Indicated Air Speed (the speed indicated in the cockpit), not your True Air Speed (which you can think of as your actual speed over the ground, assuming no head or tail wind). The rough rule of thumb (in non-metric units) is to increase your indicated airspeed (IAS) by 2% per thousand feet of altitude to obtain the true airspeed (TAS). So 250 km/h IAS at 22,000m is a bit over 600 km/h True. Edited April 21, 2023 by Gatling20 2 Quote
Tommy2Fast Posted April 24, 2023 Author Posted April 24, 2023 You have a really good point Gatling20.. I did not know SF2 was that "sophisticated" . Then it all make more sense to me. Thanx for the reply -Tommy Quote
