Paul, I could tell you horror stories about HOA's. I'm a painting contractor and I've seen about every type of asshat you can think of on these boards. My mom's HOA started messing w/her and she finally got fed up and ran for president. She won! First thing she did was ask me to get some color chips together so that the board could pick out a huge amount of colors. ;) The ex president lived next door to her and had threatened her w/violence in front of my brother shortly after that. Man was he surprised when this dude showed up at his door with hair down to his waist and wanting to discuss w/him the merits of never ever talking to my mom again. ;) I suppose that the combat boots, .45 in gun leather and the police freq's on my handheld dual band ham radio made him think I was a cop....................:D I never said I was though.

i got probloums with blue angels mod!?!?!
Ruggbutt replied to N.Forsythe's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Uhh, some of them overwrite the ME INIT file and don't revert back. Besides, I get no joy from flying an F18 with a Flanker cockpit. -
Some one should make the S-3 have a tanker pod

I don't use mods like that because several have screwed up my LOMAC install. -
I select Vikhrs and turn on the Shkval. I set the TD box for 10 meters (average size for an armored vehicle) and I lock up a launcher vehicle. I make sure I'm within firing range then I turn on my laser. I only have 60 seconds before the laser overheats (and shuts off) so I have to time my attack precisely. LA pops up on the HUD and on the Shkval so I know I'm ok to fire. Vikhr away. The Vikhr spirals towards it's target, leaving a telltale smoke trail. I ran the laser on the last run till it automatically shut off (to prevent burning it out) and with this quick turn around it may not have cooled well enough to give me another 60 seconds. There's one soft skinned vehicle left in the target area and I turn on the laser and fire a Vikhr. The laser shuts down (LR starts blinking in the HUD) and my Vikhr is blind. It explodes harmlessly in the surf. Beagle runs in to take out the remaining vehicles and launchers. When it's all said and done nothing survives our attack. Having climbed back to altitude I fly over the target area, pure carnage! Beagle tells me to break right as tracers fly past my aircraft. There are 3 Molniya patrol boats heading towards the target area at full speed and they're firing their A/A guns at us. I change my TD box size to 60 meters and lock my Shkval on one of the Molniyas. My laser has cooled down so I wait till I'm in range and I turn it on. I fire four Vikhrs as quickly as I can pull the trigger. All four Vikhrs hit within 3 seconds of each other. I have no idea how much damage I've done to the Molniya, but I feel better that I damaged him. I don't take kindly to being shot at and this is my way of expressing myself. ;) I'm Winchester so I tell Beagle to form up and I jettison the launcher tubes as I climb back to altitude for the ride home. The flight home was uneventful, as AWACS called us clear all the way home. Looks like the German Migs and Phantoms did a great job on CAP. Beagle and I fly to intercept the glideslope as we approach final. Flaps and gear down and locked. Touchdown and chutes deployed, it doesn't get any better than this. No holes in the a/c and cold beer waiting for me in the O-Club.

POL SEAD AAR Part 2
Ruggbutt replied to Ruggbutt's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
It's one of my missions from my mission pack. -
Some Eagle shots, cuz I love the '15. Note: these are shots of the stock F15 with Walmis' tanks. They were taken before the new '15 model was released.

POL Move UP AAR (After Action Report)
Ruggbutt posted a topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
This is an AAR for one of the missions in my LMR Ground Attack Pack. These missions are for use with the LockOn Mission Randomizer. Today we got reinforcements. They're green as algae. We're ferrying our aircraft to a new airbase (Kirovskoye) today so at least the nuggets will get some formation practice. Our planes are lightly armed, and by the looks of things our loadouts reflect what didn't fit on the convoy that's moved the rest of our ordnance forward to the new base. When flying with Beagle there isn't much talking going on, as we often use visual cues for takeoff and formation flying. This isn't the case today, Beagle will leave a bit later with another group of nuggets. While he's been itching to be flight leader, I doubt this is what he had in mind. We spool the engines up on our a/c and I request permission to taxi. Tower gives me the go ahead and my nuggets line up behind me on the taxiway. I use proper radio procedures for the nuggets, we don't want them to become comfortable just yet. ;) We reach the runway and line up in pairs. I request takeoff and I give my wingman a count then "mark" and we start our roll. I barely get wheels up when I'm contacted by Kerch-Bagerovo (where we just took off ) who patches me into Kirovskoye Airbase Tower. Our new base is being shelled and they're requesting assistance. The first few salvos targeted their Patriot search radar and destroyed it. They can't give us exact coordinates where the arty is, just a general direction. They're stymied by the shelling as our forces cleared the area around the base within range of arty units. I tell Kirovskoye Tower that we're airborne and give them an ETA. They have Apaches airborne that are searching for the arty as well. I can hear the shells exploding when Kirovskoye tower has their mic keyed up. They report fires everywhere. I'm not thrilled with having green pilots up with me when we have to find and kill these arty units, and I'm worried that their lack of experience may get someone killed, namely me. I turn on my route following autopilot and scan ahead with my binoculars. I spot 5 armored units ahead. As we get closer I see that they're T-80's. And they don't seem to be close enough to the base to be shelling it. I tell the nuggets to spread out and I make a run with my unguided rocket pods. I score a direct hit but I'm loaded out with smoke rockets. This is not good. I'm thoroughly pissed off. I call Kirovskoye to tell them I'm on station. I give them a heading relative to bullseye, tell them I've marked the T-80's and I requested that the Apache's take care of the armor. No reason to tell them that I didn't intend to mark the heavy armor. I have 2 laser guided missiles and two cluster bombs. And the smoke rockets..............This is a job for attack choppers. I'm looking for different targets. Up ahead I see muzzle flash, it's the armor. I turn on the Shkval and steer the camera towards the flashes. No wonder the arty is hitting the base, the enemy has diverted it's mobile shore artillery to shell Kirovskoye. They have at least double the range of standard arty. From the arty's vantage point you can see the damage being done to the base. In front of the cloud in the center, you can see an outbound shell heading towards the base. I tell the nuggets to spread out, stay at altitude (3500 meters) and keep their eyes peeled for MANPADS, AAA and SAMs. I choose 10 meters size for my TD box and I lock one of the shore batteries. When I get in range I nose down, turn on my laser and let the missile loose. I don't check to see the results, I pull g's and climb in a right hand spiral. I'll check to see if I killed the bad man on my next run in, I select cluster bombs. In a shallow dive I release a pair. I immelman and as my nose reaches level with the horizon my cluster bombs hit. Shack! I climb back up to altitude and call the nuggets. I can tell they're itching to get into the fight but that will only happen if I'm Winchester. I don't want to write any letters to wives unnecessarily. I'd prefer to have some time to train these pilots. I switch to guns and start a shallow dive, as my pipper passes over a target I give the trigger a squeeze. I've chosen to bypass auto burst cutoff, so my guns will fire as long as I pull the trigger. I see the sparks from the armor piercing shells hit the soft skin of the shore batteries. I get direct hits, then a fire. I run back in, one more bad guy left and I have plenty of cannon rounds. Boom, headshot! :D I fly out to the east from the target area and I get pinged by radar. My Berioza is screaming at me. I turn the Shkval on and it's "only" a Shilka. I have one laser guided missile left and it's much longer ranged than the Shilka. I lock the Shilka, fire the laser and press the trigger. 7 seconds later the Shilka is gone. I tell my nuggets to join up, we're heading to our new home. I call Kirovskoye and they tell me I'm clear all the way in, and the shelling has stopped. They report the runway clear although some of the taxiways are toast. Full flaps and gear down, airbrakes on and on glideslope. I greased her in on the numbers and pop the chute. A landing like that always makes the nuggets respect the instructor, as well as my performance against the arty units. I taxi past what's left of the auxiliary tower. My nuggets land safely, which makes me happy. We're already short on CAS aircraft. The events today go to show you how fluid the battlefield is. What was supposed to be a boring ferry flight turned into a fight to save air and ground units that had been moved forward last night. While casualties were low it could have turned out differently. You don't expect to be diverted for a combat mission, but anything can happen. Shortly after wheels up an hour ago things went from bad to worse, but fortunately the enemy hadn't properly reinforced their shore batteries. Things could have been much worse. And if you want to stay on my good side, don't remind me of my beautiful hit on a T-80 with a smoke rocket......................................I'll bet that I didn't even scratch the paint. -
Please don't use my name in vain. ;)

This is an AAR for one of the missions in my LMR Ground Attack Pack. These missions are for use with the LockOn Mission Randomizer. Beagle and I taxi to the runway and line up for takeoff. I request permission from the tower and we spool the engines up to 80% with the brakes on. All systems are functional so we firewall the throttles and begin our roll. We're both loaded heavy so we use full flaps. 3/4ths of the way down the runway we're wheels up. Climbing out to 3500 meters, visibility is 23 miles with light cloud cover and light ground fog. Winds are nominal and I'm at 94% thrust at 10 meters/sec nose up. I start receiving faint "beeps" on my SPO-15 (Berioza) indicating aircraft to my 1 o'clock. Shortly thereafter AWACS tells me that there are German Mig29's returning from CAP on that heading. I tune my radio to their frequency and hear the pair of them lining up on an attack with a lone KA-50. One of the pilots calls defensive as the chopper pilot fires a Vikhr. The radar guided missile causes the chopper to go defensive. The Vikhr passes close by the Mig and explodes behind him. There's no telling if it was laser or IR guided, either way it was a close call for the Mig. The Mig pilot had guts as he kept his radar lock all the way till his missile impacted. The Ka50 didn't get off so lucky......... At 22 clicks from the target area I turn on the Shkval and point the lens at the target area. I select max mag (23x) to see if I can pick out anything thru the haze. I'm still too far out. My primary target (KUB site) has been playing possum, I get no warnings on the Berioza until I'm locked up. I call Beagle and tell him "Music On". He's carrying the jammers and shorter ranged Anti-Radar missiles so he gets the pods. I switch on the Phantasmagoria pod and my KH-58's (NATO codename Kilter) are automatically selected. There's the KUB site in my HUD, delineated by the target diamond and "KUB" in cyrillic. I lock up the KUB site and I hear "Magnum" in my headset. Good 'ol Beagle, he's on top of things and he's got a KH-25MP (NATO codename Kegler) on the way. I press the fire button and my plane lurches to the left as a KH-58 drops from the rails. It drops several meters before the motor fires. Then it's on the way to making a KUB radar operator have a really bad day. While Beagle fired before I did, my missile has a longer range and more rocket motor so my missile should reach the target (or get shot down) first. I hear a launch warning in my headset, I call defensive and pull 6 g's in a left turn to put some distance between myself and the inbound missile. Luckily, the KUB radar is destroyed and it's missile now unguided self destructs as Beagle sends another KH-25 towards a Tunguska. I line up again and I target one of the Tungs painting my a/c. I have one '58 left and off it goes. The business end. Shack! I roll out of the target area to set up for another run.

Shilkas don't turn on their radars until you're within just over a mile from them. -
Red Flag (LOCERF) Lock On/Flaming Cliffs
Ruggbutt replied to Ruggbutt's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I was using a realistic weapons loadout that was "fixed" for 1.1x by someone else besides Shepski. Goya had an older version that was different and while Goya said there shouldn't be any problems w/the loadout I'll be working on the "official" loadout diagram for Red Flag in the future. That being said I released CCIP manually in singles. I usually drop on the first target then on every third vehicle when they're in a line like that. You get overlapping coverage. -

Did the Strela shoot at it? It won't land if it's being shot at. -

The only way to do it is to add antiaircraft guns or SAMS at that airfield. -
Hi Jojo. Fancy meeting you here. :D

Cy-25T parachute failure
Ruggbutt replied to youmbld's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series File Announcements
CY is "Russian" for Su (Sukhois design bureau). -
It cannot be added, it can replace a current aircraft. And with that you'd be stuck with that a/c's performance and radar visibility. So it's really not feasable.
