You can try my Modded Sound Pack and my Modded Warning Pack. I didn't make the sounds, I snagged them from several different mods and those people have been given credit. In the Warning pack I created the heavy breathing sounds by merging two sounds together, which I also didn't create. Those people have been given credit in the read me also. They are Modman 5 compatible. There is also a jpeg of how I have the volume sliders set for realistic sound. One of mine who flew in a Mig 29 at MAKS last year said it was spot on. Try it out.

Sounds like you installed ZZZSpace's 8.1 (or earlier) sound pack. It won't work with Flaming Cliffs. You need to find the version that does, it's available on lockonfiles.com. It's manual install only.

In the mission the ship has to be designated as a primary target. A diamond will appear in the HUD for the ship and you can lock onto and fire on the diamond.

LOMAC Questions
Ruggbutt replied to latteral's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
1. Depending on what day and time it is there can be from 20 to 100 playing in Hyperlobby. 2. There are plenty of mods to do that. Most use Modman to install the modded files. 3. It's free. 4. Typically you'll need Lock On, Flaming Cliffs (expansion pack) and the 1.12a patch for whatever version of FC you're using. There's a download version and a CD version. -
Saitek X52 Setup in LOMAC
Ruggbutt replied to Joseph99's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Fire up Lock On, go to the Options menu. Go to the page where your controllers are and there's a pulldown box in the top left corner. Choose your joystick from that menu. The switch next to the pulldown box toggles from Axis to Keybinds (or something like that). Toggle that switch to the keybind list and delete every entry in the large window at the bottom/center of the page. You're done! -
F-16C v1.1

I haven't used this mod in a while but I don't think you can shoot Mavericks with it. -
Engine Shutdown question
Ruggbutt replied to I B Spectre's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I think the keys are different for 1.02. Go into your Docs folder in the main Lock On folder and take a look at the keycommands.doc file. Whatever is in there is correct. -
Using LOPE
Ruggbutt replied to I B Spectre's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
If you're installing other mods that write to the ME Init file then it will read yellow. Modman compares each file in each particular mod to the file being used by the game. If you have the F15 or the Walmis weapons mod which write to that file then it will show that it's partially installed (yellow). -

To do everything that Shepski's mod does you'd have to spend a couple hours in LOPE. ;) -

Part of the problem is your vid card, it's bare minimum as far as being able to run Lock On. Try putting all your in game settings as low as you can. What version of Lock On are you running? -
Using LOPE
Ruggbutt replied to I B Spectre's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
The realistic mod is Shepski's mod and it mimics the real life capabilities of the planes that it mods. I'd recommend it highly. Make sure you get the version that is intended for your install. Someone did the "fix" on that mod for 1.12a, the current version of Flaming Cliffs. That mod has been around for quite a while. -

Glad to see you have it sorted. Be careful with LOPE, you can really fuxor your loadouts. And by all means don't hop on a server online with a LOPE'd loadout. It's considered cheating. ;) -
Blue Screen of Death
Ruggbutt replied to bigdavel's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Ok, that error you're getting sometimes is caused by drivers. If you're running the newest drivers with that old a vid card it could be the problem. The newest and the greatest drivers may not work as well as older drivers that are specifically designed for your vid card. I'm gonna take a guess and say you should try some of the late 60's or early 70's drivers. Anything that is currently able to play on that vid card should still play with older drivers. If you have BF2 you have to have the 77.77 drivers for that game to render correctly. Try www.guru3d.com and grab an older set there. Also, google Driver Cleaner Pro. You're going to need it. Remove your drivers thru your control panel in the start menu. Reboot into safe mode, use Driver Cleaner Pro. Install your new drivers and then reboot in normal windows mode. Always used DC Pro because sometimes files from different driver versions remain and cause the problems you're having. Get back with me and lets see if that fixes your problem. I've had the BSoD's with certain sets of 80's series drivers on my previous vid card, a 7800GT. -

Let Me Know What You've Got #2
Ruggbutt replied to GhostDog's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series Mission/Campaign Building
The only way to do it is to download the tool to extract the missions from the campaign. Grab the Campaign Mission Extractor or something like that. Should be available on lockonfiles.com. -
Precision Slide Problem
Ruggbutt replied to Sir.Floyd's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Sorry this reply is late. You need to set a dead zone for your zoom. Do a search on the lockon.ru forums for "banded deadzone". -
Australian Lomac pilots
Ruggbutt replied to rcmacchipilot's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Shadow from our squadron is in Queensland, as is his twin brother (they're Kiwis). He's building a new rig to run LOMAC and is just waiting on a few parts. I'll point him in your direction when he's ready to reinstall. Feel free to hop on our Ventrilo server and say hi. All the info you need is located here. -
Recording video
Ruggbutt replied to Eagle Driver's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Instead of hitting the "fly" button to start the mission, hit CTRL R. That will record a track for you. At the end of the mission you'll be prompted to name the track. You can watch it and change the views at that time. Thanks for the props rcmacchipilot. :D -

Download Modman (Loman 5) at lockonfiles.com. Also download the "fix" for it by Teka Teka. It's easier to add mods thru LOMAN than it is to mod WOE. ;) USAFMTL will hang me for that comment. :D -
ED releases plugins to permit adding new aircraft
Ruggbutt replied to streakeagle's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Yes, it's www.teambsr.com. Both LOC and I have several videos available for download at Lockonfiles.com. My F-16 vid Viper Drivers has several cockpit shots with a viper cockpit in Lock On. I did some creative editing and it looks like in game footage. -
How do i get rid of my addons?
Ruggbutt replied to -=JB=-'s topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
The problem with some of those "mods" is that they change some of your files permanently. Sometimes a complete reinstall of Lock On is the only fix. -
Using LOPE
Ruggbutt replied to I B Spectre's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Manually add the LOPE.exe to the Lock On folder. -
ED releases plugins to permit adding new aircraft
Ruggbutt replied to streakeagle's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Blame UBI for the fixes. Your EULA for Lock On: Modern Air Combat is a "contract" with UBISoft. They fired ED so I doubt that contractually there can be any fixes. You're complaining to the wrong entity. ED spokesman Matt Wagner stated that they are not allowed to touch anything relating to original LOMAC code, as they were "dismissed" from that project. When Black Shark is released you'll receive all the "fixes" that were in Flaming Cliffs, even if you didn't buy Flaming Cliffs. That's a fact Growler, so now what are you going to complain about? -
