Bard, I have the Audigy2 ZS Gamer and I get no fps hit w/sound accelerated or not. If you'd like I can do a test for you, tell me exactly what you'd like me to try. I can do screenies or whatever you'd like. -

And being under a deadline to get something done sometimes results in more clutter. I've seen stuff like this occur as more people become involved in a project, whether it be software or construction. A good manager will try to sort things out and make sure things end up in their proper places. The thing is that there is more going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Corporate politics killed F4 if I recall, so you can image some of the b.s. that ED had to deal with. The saying "Shiznit runs downhill" is appropriate regarding any kind of corporate environment. -

I gotta go w/System on this. Stating that the code is a mess is pretty much a generic explanation. Take a look at Windows, would you have done things different? Lexicon may have a point w/his understanding of code and such but just because someone did it different doesn't mean it's wrong. My way of organizing files on my computer is the right way for me. I organize them the same way you would organize a real filing cabinet, fundamentals of which were taught to me in school. Is my way the correct way? Can it be done several ways and still be right? Or course it can. All I see is negative from this guy, w/no solutions. I understand having something to say but w/everything negative being posted he sounds more like a troll than anything else. -

Thats a good point, and messy is a subjective term. Take your start menu for example. How many entries do you have in your Start/All Programs menu? My mom has 3 columns of stuff, I have 6 entries (folders). Everything is filed away nice and neat because I like to be able to find what I'm looking for (and the fact that I'm slightly anal retentive is part of it). My home is the same way. All of my girlfriends used to get highly annoyed w/me for making them wipe out the sink w/a towel after they use it. I find I don't have to scrub the sinks w/cleanser as often (we have horrible hard water here). Thats how I file things, is it the right way? For me it is, for others it might appear strange as they aren't used to operating in that fashion. -

Bard, it has nothing to do w/what I like or dislike. It's that these people come on the forums and talk smack, and then cannot back up what they say. They have no proof of their background but they're experts. Here's a for instance: I was a concealed weapons instructor for the State of Arizona, I had a Federal Firearms License for almost a decade, I shot semi-professionally in sanctioned combat matches, my team placed 4th in the world in the SOF 3 Gun World Championships. I can back all of that up. If called on it I can post copies of my Licenses, my instructor status and score sheets from SOF. Let this guy at least back what he says, cuz all I've heard from him is lip service. I'm sick of seeing people who act like they can do better but don't have anything but the anonymoty of the internet to back them up. If anyone has any questions about "facts" that I have stated, I can give you proof of background or at least where I found the information at. Lexicon should at least show where he's developed game software or something comparable to game software to back up his suppositions. He's the one making the statements that the coding is a mess. He's the one making the statements that he could do better. Anyone w/an internet connection can say that. Guys that are real fighter pilots (or maintenance crew) are always answering questions on several of the FS forums we all visit. They have already shown that they really have those occupations. It helps to lend credibility to their posts. Frankly, every post I've ever seen from this guy is negative. Sounds more like a disgruntled customer or someone using a different login to stir up the shiznit. -

And you're the coding guru, right? I love the "I can do it better mentality". Come back when you can give us something we can use. -

As you don't have access to the source code you don't have all the information needed to make a statement like that. -

You are making incorrect assumptions. You know nothing of the interaction between myself and some of the guys you beta test with. I merely stated that I had previous experience and interaction w/some of those guys, Moses included. Question me if you want but the truth is the truth regardless. I'm sorry you feel that my opinion doesn't matter, but life doesn't work that way. Relax a little, a difference of opinion on open forums shouldn't ruin your mood or your day.:) Back OT: I appreciate the hard work you guys are doing, I beta tested FarCry. I too spent way too many hours online testing maps, gameplay, weapons, the whole nine yards. I spent way too much time submitting incident, bug and gameplay reports to Crytek. But I did so of my own volition. I know what beta testers go thru and I know what it's like to be attacked in the forums for posting niggling issues and opinions on what needs to be fixed. I put myself in that position and did so willingly. Too many times I've seen beta testers get their panties in a bunch over a job they volunteered for. If you don't wanna risk being burned to death don't become a firefighter. If you don't wanna die falling from heights, don't become a window washer on a high rise. We all appreciate what the testers are doing, I posted on UBI that exact thought this morning. The beta testers are doing a thankless job for sure, but lets not forget that they chose to do so. In closing I will say that there are some capable people testing the beta patches (Moses included) and from personal experience I know how hard that job can be. I think that when everything is hashed out in the end that ED will release a finished "fix" for LOMAC that will make everyone happy and proud to fly the best FS out there. -

I'm sorry you feel that I was aiming that at you. In the interest of not starting a flame war I didn't mention the couple of names over there w/the overzealous moderator attitudes. All you have to do is go over there and look at the moderation. Some are better than others. Dayglow for instance moderates fairly w/out being a flaming asshole. On the other side of the coin a couple have let the beta testing go to their heads and have become self-important'. Having had plenty of contact w/these people before their testing began I speak from experience. While I won't give out any names you really have to wonder about a mod whose title is "Destroyer of Threads". BTW, I tried the PM route to try to talk that mod down out of the tower, it did no good. -

GD computer software!!! At least they caught the missile issue. I get my share of kills w/the '15 as it is, but I'd like to have it fixed correctly. -

Yes but trying to touch me in the bad spot w/out my permission is construed as harassment.

Considering the time zone differences between the forums that gives you about 9 minutes from Stormin's post. You're starting to slack Ghost Dog!!! -
Recommend starting a Falcon ladder instead.

I used to fly it on my Grandma's computer, w/no joystick. I got pretty good at it and when I got the joystick I was dangerous.
