  7. looking for a good flight sim

Battle of Britain 2 IMO is the most realistic, immersive ww2 combat sim going. Make Il-2 look "cartoonish" which is hard to do..
  8. I have a old but very good Microsoft FF pro stick with a microsoft serial to usb adapter(no serial port on my computer only usb) It's a HP pavillion running windows XP. The computer doesn't recognise the stick as even being there. Anyone know how to get windows xp to recognise the stick? I want to use it for "BOB 2" which has software to run the ff stick if the computer will just recognise it. It will run in XP with the serial adapter on my older computer but not with the usb connection on my new HP.
  9. Basic air combat question

How many people know what this means? "You meet a better class of people in the vertical" ?
  10. Basic air combat question

all very very true and all worth knowing when facing an experianced pilot who knows how to use the vertical dimension to his favor. If one never learns this skill one puts oneself to a great disadvantage. "you will be greeted by a much better class of pilot" That is exactly the answer..
  11. luftwaffe commander game help

    here you go... http://www.combatsim.com/htm/feb99/luftwaffe.htm
  12. Basic air combat question

For the record it's because planes turn much quicker in vertical manauvers then in horozontal...
  13. Basic air combat question

Ya, I should have posted this in the jet and ww 2 sections huh? My mistake.. I suppose it applies to ww 1 fighter also it's just a bit harder to do without having your wings come off in a dive. The spad and Fokker d7 could probably accompolish this though quite well though..
  14. Patches for BoB II out

patch 205 is out now and it is excellent!
  15. The mig 21 "lancer"

http://www.mig-21.de/bilder/kabinelancera.jpg Oh the cockpit is oh so nice.... I have read in some nato squadron exercises they have even given f-16's trouble. The Mig 21 was just waiting for this upgrade! It can use modern Nato missiles also!
  16. I have to just share this little software glitch with someone that I found. When you let the autopilot land the Me-163 out of nowhere the droppable dolly that is normally attached to the skid on a "sharp start" take off and released to be used again will appear below the plane fly up and "reattach" it's self to the jet! This must have been a secret german invention that came real late in the war and is quite impressive! If one hits the "gear up" button over and over and over the jet will first drop the dolly and then the dolly will fly right back up and reattach it's self to the plane. LOL! Mind you I am not complaining. It is really enjoyable watching this happen. If you land the 163 manually this doesn't happen whatsoever so it is no problem at all. I just wanted to share this funny little software glitch with you all. I think you guys that develop these third party planes on your own to share with all us software dummies are the most excellent people I know of. Keep up the excellent work. You are the best of the best of the best!
  17. Thanks a lot for the excellent info.
