Hi guys, I'm testing the waters with the other modders out there about the idea of making and distributing a "Parts Pack" of 3dmax files for download. Along the lines of wheels, guns, engines, props, crew. All mapped and ready to go. Just to make thing progress a bit faster in the modelling stage. Hopefully it will encourage new modellers to get involved if they can use "off-the-shelf' parts for their first few models. A few issues about recognising the original builder in a readme file will need to be sorted but I don't think that there is anything insurmountable. Any interest?

Morane-Saulnier Type L/Pfalz E.III Packs RELEASED
Laton replied to Laton's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
This was mentioned over in the Thirdwire forum re the Pfalz E.III and E.IIIAO As released the tracers a slightly higher than the gunsight (peronal preference - I find it easier to aim). If you want them right in the cross-hair you'll need to make the following changes in the _data.ini [FlightControl] StallSpeed=16.75 CruiseSpeed=32.18 ClimbSpeed=30.55 CornerSpeed=28.59 MaxG=3.50 MaxSpeedSL=34.76 MachLimit=0.16 PitchDamper=0.60 RollDamper=0.00 YawDamper=0.00 GunBoresightAngle=-1.0 <---- add this line [internalGun1] SystemType=FIXED_GUN GunTypeName=7.92MM_SPANDAU_LMG08/15 InputName=FIRE_PRIMARY_GUN GunGroup=1 MuzzlePosition=0.0,1.65,0.16 LightPosition=0.0,1.65,0.16 AimAngles=0.0,0.0 ,0.0 <----- change to this 0.0,-1.0,0.0 MaxAmmo=400 EjectShells=TRUE EjectPosition=0.00,0.85,0.21 EjectVelocity=-1.6,0.0,0.0 MinExtentPosition=0.17,1.66,0.14 MaxExtentPosition=0.12,0.63,0.23 GunFireAnimationID=8 Synchronized=TRUE -
That's an ugly little spud. I may have to add it to the list I've been a fan of the Camel since I was a kid so having that in-game is great.

Morane-Saulnier Type L/Pfalz E.III Packs RELEASED
Laton replied to Laton's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
No worries Bucky, you're the reason we ended up with 6 variants rather than just 1 (or at least 3). Thanks for all the comments guys. Glad you like them. -

Early war flyers should be having a bit of fun in the next few days.......
-
Hi guys, Next up from me - one of the single seat "parasol" fighters for you early-war types Cheers edit to add: v. Deutschmark will be supplying skins for this one as well.
-
Bucky, good catch. Some research indicates that: (takes breath) the Pfalz E.III was the armed version of the Pfalz E.II which was in turn the up-engined version of the Pfalz A.1 which was the licence built Type L. Hence a Pfalz E.III is in the works with a single Spandau in place of the Vickers. Which makes for some interesting dogfights
-
And a few more. This is a place-holder skin so I could check mapping for errors in-game (and found a few :blush2: ), probably won't be part of the release.
-
Bucky, Fine idea, I'll do that modification once the Type L is released
-
Progress: Mapping is pretty much done. and the first set has gone off to v. Deutschmark peter01 (author of the revised Fokker E.III/E.IV etc FM's) has kindly agreed to take a crack at the FM as soon as I sort out the boxes/collision points and get a few details for him. Damage nodes up after that.
-
I have to say its something I hadn't got around to thinking about - but I don't see why not. Putting the deflectors themselves on is a pretty simple job.
