  2. Hi Guys, Been messing about making a new engine damage effect. This changes the existing puffy greyish smoke to a heavier brown tinged effect. Still experimental but if anyone wants to give it a go (or make mods/changes) here's the procedure: Step 1: Go to your First Eagles/Effects folder and make a backup copy of the AircraftEngineDamageEffect.ini file. Step 2: Double check you have a copy of the AircraftEngineDamageEffect.ini file so you can go back to it.   6. Hi guys, The E.IV's are pretty much done. A little more mapping to do around the engine cowling and they should be right to go. There will be two versions in the release pack: two & three gun types. The FM will be one that Peter supplied to me a while ago, its a beast (in a good way) - lots of engine torque to deal with . The release skin will be the same as the ones for the E.III, consider them place holders until the skinners get to work. In fact if skinners want to make a start, use the template that came with my E.III's as the wings/fusleage/empenage etc are all the same. The shroud around the cockpit and the new engine cowl are the only new bits. I'll do my best to get it finished and up on CombatAce early next week. After that I'm off overseas for a while. Cheers

    Hi guys, Been a while but I'm back modelling after an interesting few months - I'll be a dad for the first time in July . A few of the the things on my list: Finish off the Fokker E.IV variants 2 Gun 3 Gun As well as: Sopwith Strutter and Hansa-Brandenberg D.1 Not sure on release time-frames, I'm off to India in a few weeks for a 6 week holiday.     Thanks guys, I've got a laptop now so I should be getting more done during lunch-breaks at work (as well as keeping more regular backups). Those Fokkers are currently wearing the stock E.III skins by v.Deutschmark (John if you see this drop me an email). FM's are actually pretty much done by Peter so they should be farily easy to get out before I head overseas. Boy or Girl, the kid will be a crack shot, skilled bushman and effective sim-jockey by the time they're 10 :yes: I'll be starting a few jets soon as well - feel like branching out a bit (NA FJ-1 Fury to start).

    Pretty sure that's an FM issue. If you do a search on the DFW5 (or the -1 mod) I think there is an FM fix available.
  14. Hi guys, Though I'd drop buy with a bit of an update. I've been taking a bit of a break from modelling for the last month or so after being involved (as a bystander) in a serious car accident in which I lost a good friend. Back to it very soon. The Fokker E.IV is almost ready. Most likely do two variants - 2 and 3 gun types. The pit will just be a slight adaptation of the existing E.I/E.III pit. After that I'll get back to the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter and then the Hansa-Brandenberg D.1 "Starstrutter" (hi Peter) Cheers

Hey guys, Been playing with the "Damaged Aircraft" effect and have come up with this: Its a modification of the existing Dirty Exhaust emitter and replaces the billowing grey smoke you currently get when an aircraft gets damaged short of catching on fire. Unzip the file into your First Eagles effects folder. Backup the existing one first in case you want to go back to it. AircraftSmokeEffect.zip Slight delay in the Fokker E.II/E.IV due to real-world issues but they should be available soon. Cheers
  19. When I was messing about with the 2-seat MS and Pfalz variants I got the impression that it changed the amount of time it took the gunner to detect, aim & fire and an enemy aircraft. Try setting it to 0.5 Its hard to say what the effect is, esp. as the AIRCRAFTOBJECT.ini file had a burstlength parameter for each of the AI levels.
  20. Hi guys, Hopefully I'll get a chance to have a play with your new FM's over the weekend. On the issue of Eindeckers being able to out-turn the DH2. Is the issue one of pitch authority or roll? It was my undertanding that the Fokkers were slower than the DH2 to roll into a turn due to wing-warping but once they were at the right angle they were very quick in bringing the nose around to a new heading because of their good pitch repsonse. On the gunners, in the AIData section: [AIData] ..... GunnerFireChance=90 GunnerFireTime=2.5 <------ this line (I think) reduces the time taken between the gunner firing bursts. GunnerAimOffset=0.0050 .....
