  1. Got the QRC-160-1 and QRC-160A-1 ECM pods to show up in the campaign. The AN/ALQ-119 didn't though. Not sure if this is an in service date thing or I just typed it wrong.
  2. Think I found it. It was in the missions.cat under WOVCampL1 in the flight directory.
  3. Understand that for WOE. I've edited quite a few. Problem is WOV doesn't have the campaign_data.ini file in the campaign folder. All that is in there is a configuration settings file. Any idea where to find the campaign_data.ini file for the WOV campaigns? I figure they need to be extracted, but not sure from where.
  4. I guess I would've thought they were in service by Linebacker II? Also thought that you have to specify which weapons are available for a campaign. At least that's how WOE seemed to be. I had to add weapons to the campaign_data.ini file for them to show up. If not, can't I just change the in service date of the existing ECM pod? Here's an example of the WOE campaign_data.ini file.   5. I understand the Aim-9B was bad in real life. And it sure is bad in the game. Are there any tips on firing these things. Playing the Rolling Thunder in an F-8, every mission I get behind a MIG, I wait until he's straight and level, I'm straight and level, good tone, fire. I routinely fire 4 9b's in a row and they just go to the wayside. I think i got a hit once. I can see when we're maneuvering an such, but he's right in front of me. Any tips anyone uses to at least get 10-20% kill?
  6. Wuhoo! It worked! It worked! At least one mission anyway. I waited till both of us were straight and level, got good tone, pulled the pipper above the target as per Crusader, fired. 2 out of 4 hit in an F-8 campaign. Sweet. I can live with this. Wonder if it was just luck.
  7. So how do you do it? I have heard it matters where the pipper is. Is that the key, putting the pipper above the target after getting tone. Like I said, it's nothing for me just to shoot off 4 of these things and all miss. I can live with missing, but when we are both straight and level and I'm right behind him! That just doesn't seem right. That comment about the sparrows, yeah they seem way too accurate. I never miss with those things. You just gotta get >3.5 nm away.
  8. I've been using an older weapons mod from March 06 (maybe May 06) and I just recently realized I was out of date and installed the jul06 mod. Dang, I can't survive an F-4 mission in LB1 or LB2. I see some migs and here the sam launches, before I would peek around and just make sure they weren't coming this way and I'm good to go. Now, the sams are tough. They whoop me every time. Not to mention I get too focused on the sams and the mig's are even starting to take me out. A mig 21 got em with an atoll. That never happened with the 'older' weapons pack. Any strategies when you have both migs and sams to deal with with the latest weapons mod?
  9. I can survive if I fly low and stay low. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to fight Mig's then cuz you can't very well stay in the vertical, the F-4's best advantage. So this is good for strike missions, but not really fighter sweeps. I can also survive on bomber escorts (at least B-52's anyway) as I just mix myself into the bombers and let the sam's shoot at them. Hey, the mission said to protect from enemy fighters, right? Actually, the B-52's probably have ECM anyway. The last mission I did this and all B-52's survive. Makes a long mission though. Although, pretty much all my wingmen die in every mission since I upgraded the weapons pack.
  10. Seems like the radar in search mode on the FA-18A doesn't pick up objects that well, at least when compared with WOV's F-4 for example. I can have a bandit ~10 mi ahead and the radar doesn't pick up the blip (adjusting search distances), pretty much until he's in visual or I can boresight him. I play with Radar on hard so I'm not expecting super radar, but seems like I should be able to pick them up at least as a blip. Anybody else notice this?
  11. Until I get a Gmail, is there a way to copy the avionics radar abilities from one plane to another? i.e. copy the radar attributes of the F-15 to the F-18, but not change the visual cockpit radar on the F-18. Like an avionics.dat file or something?
  12. Welp, have no idea which one to get (shoot, I don't even know what icq or gmail is). Which one do you recommend? Is it too big for the d/l section here? Trying to think if there are any other options. Turtlehawk, follow USAFTML's link, this is the one I am using.

  15. Ummm, I guess I don't. Dang, I'll have to go check that out. Is there one for the F-14 too cuz that radar isn't that good as well. The furthes I've fired a aim54 is 6mi. cuz my radar doesn't pick em up.
  16. I've been playing around with the FA-18A by USAFTML, and I noticed I can't add a drop tank in single missions. I checked the loadout.ini and the data.ini and is does have Tank300_F18 in there. I then extracted and checked WOE Weapondata.ini and couldn't find the tanks there, although I couldn't find the F16Ctank and F16Wtank, but they work so go figure. I saw the knowledge base how to add, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Also, if I do have to add to weapondata.ini, how do I know what dimensions, mass etc to make the Tank300_F18?

  18. I've been trying to find the groundobjectdata.ini file to add carrier campaign to WOE. I checked the object folder and also the object.cat with the extractor. I find groundobject.ini. But no groundobjectdata.ini.
  19. Welp, that almost did it. I can now change the left inner most pylon (not the right, not sure why) from the fuesalage. I still can't change the outter pylons, shows up as empty.
  20. Bump, does anyone have the info regarding F9F loadout in the above link? The link is down and was trying to get my F9F with rockets.
  21. I just downloaded and installed Red Falcon's Korean campaigns to play campaigns for Sov and Chinese, however the soviet campaign crashes to desktop every time I try to start one. Chinese campaign is fine. I patched SFP1 up to current, then made a fresh install, installed Edward's Korean addon, then installed Edward's update and the Red Falcon addon, (also Gramps russian speech pack). Anyone get the soviet red falcon campaign to work?

  23. I have SFP1, WOE and WOV and my computer really struggles with WOV FPS. Is there any way to improve the performance. I have Deuce's terrain and trees. I suppose I could uninstall, but don't want to. I have shadows turned off, but mirrors turned on at 1024x768 with normal visibility distance. Always around large cities or lots of planes. I have a decent rig that hasn't struggled with much other than IL-2/PF. AMD64 3500+ Geforce 6800GT 256 2.0 GB crucial PC3200 CL=3 Audigy Gamer
