  1. Kerry's visit to Wendy's

Just because you were or are in a branch of the US military is no open licence to publicly fester and promote the most stupid, redneck and retrograde violent anti-social views—what is it you think you are, or were, being paid to defend by that military? You guys like to talk of ‘honour’, and I don’t see a scrap of it in any of your comments.
  2. Kerry's visit to Wendy's

Glad to hear it. P.S. Compaired to what 95% of humanity gets paid, it is a VERY fat pay cheque.
  3. Kerry's visit to Wendy's

So, Kerry responds to opinion polls ... gee, I’ve never seen a politician do that! It's called being accountable and responsive to the electorate ... you know … building and detailing a DEMOCRATIC consensus of the people ... surprising, but that’s how all democratic politicians get elected, i.e. you REFLECT AND REPRESENT the majority viewpoint and are necessarily pragmatically flexible to adjustments of policy and their implementation and requirements … and if many citizens detest George W. Bush and cohort, and all he/they stand for ... then whose fault is that? As for them being Marines, well if Kerry is elected, guess what, he becomes their COMMANDER IN CHIEF, and if these guys know what is good for them, if they have any brains at all, they’ll show a lot more respect and attention to this possible impending fact, despite their petty personal electoral persuasion. That’s how constitutional democracy works, that is what you are or were PAID to defend and uphold; if you wanted a military dictatorship then emigrate to Mainland China; or perhaps you feel that you personally know better than the people who set it up your constitutional democracy? … you know, the system that feeds and cloths you, and provides you weapons, training and a fat pay cheque, and without which you would be just so much poor trailer-trash. Like you said, political posts are a VERY bad idea, dumb and inflamatory, and that is why it is against the rules of most orderly forums.
  4. LOMAC MISSION PACK

Ah, downloaded them, but that looks very slick, thanks for all the work, just got to find time to play them now, but that briefing looks great!
  5. Loved it to, but truth is stranger than fiction me thinks ...
  6. Something to hone up your skills on; two very different weather versions of the same extended intercept and destroy mission: Fine Weather version (1400 hrs) Bad weather version (1700 hrs) BRIEFING -------------- 2x(2xF-15C) - Central Crimea SITUATION: Intensive B-1B sortie strikes will be flown this afternoon against Russian military forces presently dominating and re-enforcing in the Eastern half of the Crimea. The political decision has been made to ensure that Russian commanders are left with no option but to withdraw from the immediate area of conflict INTERCEPT MISSION: KILL ALL ENEMY FIGHTERS, LOGISTICS AIRCRAFT AND AWACs WITHIN THE AIRSPACE EXECUTION: Your group will fly the LEAD INTERCEPT against any fighters which rise to contest the airspace over the Eastern Crimea. Expect to be vigorously engaged as the day unfolds. Take off at 1400 hours from GVARDESKOE airbase and tank-up over BAHCHSARAJ and cover the ingress of UK SEAD Tornados tasked with disabling the Buk SAM complex and Tunguska point defences situated at the KIROVSKOE airbase, and also at KERSH airbase. Once the SAM threat is attenuated you are to achieve and maintain forward air supremacy as 6xB-1B ingress to destroy the remaining enemy ground targets and essential airbase infrastructure at KIROVSKOE, then on to KERSH. It is expected to require two sorties and refuel plus rearm to fully complete your mission today LOGISTICS: Your aircraft will have 3 x tanks, 6 x AIM-120 and 2 x AIM-9. Your mission is expected to require at least two sorties with refuel and rearm to clear the region of all Russian military aircraft. AWACS will be active throughout but the refueller will be available only at the start of your mission BRIEFING NOTES: * Keep your distance and take care to avoid being shot down by the Buk before it is disabled by low-level UK Tornado ALARM strike * Forward position your flight at high altitude and cover the Tornados as they strike then aggressively engage enemy aircraft as the Tornados finish their initial ALARM strike * ELINT and SAT imagery reveal that you can expect SU-30 and MiG-29C to vigorously contest the airspace * There will be several other allied German MiG-29A interceptors in the airspace during your mission, plus F-16C and F/A-18C, so take all care to evaluate the IFF status of all bogies prior to missile engagement * TANKER SUPPORT is near BAHCHSARAJ to the SSW of your airfield
  7. OMG! That dude needs a holiday ... and plain english course ... and a good you know what else! :P
  8. Did you try the Sound_10km.cfg alternative sound configuration option described in the readme Eagledeer? That is most likely to solve it. This is what it says; IF YOU EXPERIENCE SOUND GLITCHES: This pack is NOT designed for use on lower spec PC’s; however, there is an included "Sound_10km.cfg" file which is an alternative sound configuration with a 10km audible sound-bubble, for use with lower spec PC on-motherboard sound systems. It is only to be used if are having trouble with the usual 25km audible range of this sound pack. To use this alternative config file, delete the file Sound .cfg to be found in the folder; C:\Program files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Sounds Then rename Sound_10km.cfg to Sound.cfg (NOTE: Capital "S" in Sound.cfg).
  9. LMAO!! Ah ... that is so funny GhostDog! hehehe
  10. Hey Bard, I use the very same TrackIR settings in Falcon 4.0 BMS 2.0 that I set up for use in Lock On and it works exactly the same within both sims. ;)
  11. Hey! That's great, how did you learn about that one???!! Now all we need is the ability to change load-outs during a mutli-flight mission tasking.
  12. If they have changed things to the extent that it would seriously affect this mod, then it probably means they have either reworked the sound engine structure, or added several new sounds. We shall see.
  13. heh, careful you could get a ... er ... close shave there Ruggbut ... by Occams's Razor no less ... that'll get rid of your spagetti coding ... hehe oops, geez... need some more nacos! ... :D
  14. Ok, beer and Nacos all 'round, gird up thy loins (pull up nappy) and rejoice!
  15. Beta 22

I jump in, I blast off, with very cool jet sounds and the best texture add-ons ever applied, and rip along the floor of the deep forested valleys, then I have a sudden balls-to-the-wall IR and guns scrape with two F-14s as I crest over a snow capped ridge ... there they are! … its on! ... I survive, then head for the refueller to get topped up … on to the IP, dodge two missiles, toss a bomb smack-bang on the desired building then beat it over a nearby ridge line, just in time to trash an incoming missile … egress … cruise RTB ... these are golden moments, just outstanding! … no where else can I get this, there isn’t a jet sim available anywhere today that can do this with this degree of sheer beauty and thrill. did it work? dah, yes! did I have serious problems? nope what do you think, isn't the ‘coding’ terribile? WTF!? … PARDON? (see above text)
  16. Every cloud has a silver lining. Cheers Mr Mudd.
  17. Beta 22

hehe, firey little girlie, best type. I'm more interested in getting my hands on HL-2 at the moment, it remains to be seen if people will re-engage with Lock On online after this long patch wait-a-thon, There has not been a single day since LOMAC came out that I haven't played it, it's still damned sweet, but I need a slab of MEAT in my Lock On sandwich. I hope this 1.02 patch has it.
  18. "...I'll be flying in about 10 minutes when Beta 21 is downloaded and installed for testing. Cheers, Carl" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=...07744#696107744
  19. Beta 21 Now ...

Well yeah, but no matter what happens Fates, I'll buy HL2 because of HL1, and so will millions of others--mission accomplished Valve Software. (come on, you'll buy it to) ;) But besides that consideration, I downloaded that huge 650meg HL2 E3 2004 'movie' at fileplanet, and that sold me on HL2. Awesome, not totally original, but has elements of originality, such as striders etc., and the atmospherics were beautious. Rag-doll and debris physics are best I've seen, (and yes, I have played around in Cry Engine). Anyway, roll on Lock On 1.02 Beta ... ? ... what # is it? ... Whatever! Beta xx :D
  20. Beta 21 Now ...

    Copy that Ghostdog. :(
  21. Best laughs - UBI Forums 2004 Bought to you by “whosaidthat”; http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=...03644#815103644 Little Storminglocks was sat watching Aunty Ed knitting a new comfort blanket for everyone to use. These were normaly made from bird's flight feathers but a new substitute was available called 'flightsim soft wear' Aunt ed was nearly finished when she noticed a hole in the flightsim so asked little storminglocks to go to the woods and find her a patch. Storminlocks set off through the woods being careful to stay on the path. On one side she could hear whiners and whingers and on the other voices shouted thanks and laughed gaily. "Be quiet" she shouted but the din just got worse. However, storminglocks was not afraid as she had made this journey several times before [actually about twenty at the last count] She searched as she went, adjusting her range and azimuth to maximise her serach area without realising that the ground clutter was spoling her efforts.Soon, [which is the computer programmers soon and not the soon of the patch waiting clan] storminglocks came to a clearing where there was a big house Storminglocks eyes 'locked on' when he saw the letters "You BE I Patch Emporium" etched abve the door. Storminglocks knocked loudly on the door [since he knew no other way]which slowly opened revealing all manner of patches. There were eye patches, patches for teachers jackets elbows, fog patches and even some sticky patches that the dog must have left behind. Storminglocks was was starting to get a bit patched off when she noticed a stack of CD's on the window sill. She started to look through them her eyes growing wider and wider as she read each one. 'Patch 2.01' 'HORNET FREE GIVE AWAY'. ALL PLANES FLYABLE' DYNAMIC CAMPAIGNS [only if needed] the titles were pure gold. Suddenly there was a noise and a voice boomed "FEE FO SEMPER FI FUM..I smell THE BLOOD OF AN EXECUTIVE WHO'S VIEWS DO NOT REPRESENT UBI DOT COM" Little smokinglocks jumped for the window, scattering the discs in all directions. She ran back up the path setting herself a direct course back to Aunt Ed's forgetting in her haste her rendevous with the mysterious tanker driver. As she got to the door she stood catching her breath [which luckily was not heavy] and grateful that she had been wearing her lucky ALQ charm that day. But then looking down she saw that one of the discs had somehow jammed its way onto her middle finger and had been brought back...but which one was it? Hardly daring to look she rotated her finger bringing the disc in to the vertical..the words 'PATCH1.02 VERSION 21' were just being seen. SUDDENLY, there was a loud "MIEOOOW" sound..the lights went on and Storming was sat bolt upright in bed, sweat on his forehead and his middle finger pointing upwards..a hint of fur stuck to the finger nail gave a clue. "Go back to sleep dear" said Mrs Stroming from the next bunk as she turned over and switched off the light. Storming fell sowly back against the pillows.glad that it had all been a nightmare but dreading having to explain the cat's injuries to the vet. He need not have worried, downstairs the cat had hurriedly thrown a few things in a flightbag , hit control E on the cat flap and left the House of Storming for good. -- * This is a creative work of fiction, and any implied resemblance to persons living or deceased is purely coincidental.
  22. True enough EagleDeer, Falcon 4.0 BMS 2.0 has a fundamentally great sound engine. Imagine if one did for the Falcon sounds and config what has been done for Lock On ? ... with the appropriate emphasis on realistic fidelity of course. Could you imagine flying that sucker in a full BMS 2.0 dynamic campaign?
  23. UBI forum is an ugly place, this place is like a cool breeze.
