THE BATTLE OF MALTA 1940-1942 (GB) 1.5 for Il2/AEP/Pf 4.03m+ A 51 mission Scripted fighter Campaign for an RAF pilot. This campaign is based on a a lot of historical research, no real pilot would have had the opportunity to experience all that is contained although I have constructed what I hope is a believable 'fiction'. Most missions represent Radar guided interceptions above the Island of Malta, against the numerically vastly superior Regia Aeronautica and Luftwaffe. Convoys are central to this whole campaign so ships of all types and their attack and defence feature very heavily throughout (several missions are carrier based). Player fly's the Gladiator, Hurricanes, Spitfire and Beaufighter (and very briefly a Martlet (lend lease F4F-4) and A20.) This campaign was constructed using the excellent il2 MATmanager and it is recommended that people install this excellant free utility in order to see accurate plane markings. (the campaign should still work without it but will not look as good as intended.) Thanks to all the skinners that created the skins contained within, I have tried my best to agnowledge their excellent work. Unzip to your desktop and look at the enclosed Read Me(GB) 1.5- As a result of The_Battle_of_Malta (IT) the convoy actions of this campaign have been recreated in far greater detail. As a result this version has 3 extra missions (all (historical) long range defences of convoys by Malta based fighters) and 5 of the pre 1.5 missions have been extensively revised (specificaly the convoy 'Pedestal' missions). (8 more 'historical'and 'semi historical' missions in total). 1.6- Updates the 41st mission in the campaign (thanks to Beaufort for research and advice.) Four missions that were air-starts have been changed so that all missions now begin on runways. Tropical A20 skin included plus MBR-2-AM-34 skin replaced with a new skin by Skioppo. (1.6 is a very minor change. With updates if you already have a campaign in progress, overwrite the existing Battle_of_Malta_1940-42 folder in your campaign GB folder and you can continue the campaign but will have the updated version.) THE BATTLE OF MALTA (IT) is now available. It took far longer to produce than this one and required more research, almost all missions are based on real mission reports and had to be created from scratch, the atmosphere and focus is very differant and so are the mission types and problems faced, try it and see. getting a potentially higher score into missions
Charlie'Chap' replied to Billy Pryce's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: Mission & Campaign Building
This is only a thought Billy, il2Stab allows a player to set the career advancement difficulty level in the conf.ini file....(ie the number of points required to receive promotion and awards.) This obviously affects Dgen campaigns but may also affect scripted career advancement too. Otherwise Recon objectives (and one for landing, you can tick a 'landing' box and set a time perameter...you prbably already know this anyhow) would seem the remaining option. -

File Name: The Battle of Malta 1940-42 (co-op) File Submitter: Charlie'Chap' File Submitted: 26 Jan 2007 File Updated: 28 May 2007 File Category: Campaigns & Missions Game version 4.03+ 10 Co-op missions for GB,IT and DE pilots for upto 24 players. Based upon the original Battle of Malta 1940-42 campaigns. During this time, Malta was the hardest posting possible for a Commonwealth pilot, with the lowest chance of survivability !. These co-ops recreate some of the dogfights, bombing missions, convoy attacks and defences of this tumultuous time. Some missions are exact replicas of actual AAR's, others are 'proportional' in terms of plane numbers. I have attempted to be as accurate to history as the game will allow, missions are therefore historic and not balanced , although the victory conditions should give everyone a fighting chance. (The Spitfire Escort mission is an exception and although based upon a historical event and date, has been elaborated upon.) These missions were designed for the 102nd automatic server so most are air starts, with engagement within 5 minutes. All should be complete including landing within 30 minutes. 1.2 makes many minor alterations and balance changes as a result of replay experiance on the above server and brings things upto date with 4.08. (although you only need 4.03+ to play it.) To enhance enjoyment of flying Italian campaigns and missions, I recommend installing Gastons excellent campaign pack which includes a campaign folder, Italian ranks and medals and an Italian speech pack:- http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Do...tails&id=41 also incuded in the Dgen Upgrade:- http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=2032 Click here to download this file -

File Name: Khalkin Gol 1939 (co-op) File Submitter: Charlie'Chap' File Submitted: 26 Jan 2007 File Updated: 6 Feb 2007 File Category: Campaigns & Missions For game version 4.70+ 6 Semi-Historical co-op missions for up to 24 players. These missions are loosely based on the AARs that I could find, or they are linked to the ground action which is far better documented. Players fly Ki27's, I153's and I16's. All missions should be complete within about 30 minutes. There are Escort, Intercept and Ground attack missions designed to be played in sequential order to create a kind of mini campaign. Special thanks to NHawk for his brilliant map template upon which this is based. I originally designed these missions for the 102nd co-op server. You can find and play them there by typing DSC MAP 01 after joining. Click here to download this file -

File Name: North Africa 1940 (co-op) File Submitter: Charlie'Chap' File Submitted: 26 Jan 2007 File Category: Campaigns & Missions 5 Historical co-ops for upto 24 players, that recreate the frantic Bi-plane actions between the RAF and the Regia Aeronautica around Halfya pass on the Libya/Egyptian border in 1940. Forget everything you ever learned about instrument flying, energy manoeuvres and boom and zoom. Strap yourself into the open cockpit of an antiquated biplane and soar into the North African sky's !. These missions are exact replicas of actual AAR's in so far as the mechanics of this game will allow. I have picked the most equal encounters and overall I think there is a fair balance (over all five missions). The eventual arrival of Hurricane 1's compensates for initial Italian numerical superiority. These missions were designed for the 102nd automatic server so most are air starts, with engagement within 5 minutes. All should be complete including landing within 30 minutes. (To play this mini-campaign online on this server, go to 102 Coop dedicated via Hyperlobby, Join. Type DSC MAP 02 in chat and send to all and it will bring up these co-op missions. You do not need to download this to play in this way but if you do, all planes that you see will have the correct skins .) Su-2 as TBD Devastator

File Name: Su-2 as TBD Devastator File Submitter: Charlie'Chap' File Submitted: 2 Nov 2006 File Updated: 3 Nov 2006 File Category: Other Bombers Pacific Su-2 reskinned as a TBD Devastator. I found the lack of this plane to be a major problem when creating early Pacific Naval scenarios. The Devastator was not a star performer...Slow, antiquated, short on range and lacking armour, barely able to take off with its torpedo. (Infact its main purpose seems to have been to iterate to the USN that they needed an effective Torpedo Bomber !). The Su-2 is not a perfect substitute but seems the closest plane ingame in look and performance (especially when set to 'Rookie' with the minimum fuel load.) The Su-2 cannot carry torpedoes (but 2x250kilo bombs is similar to the 1000lb bombload of the Devastator and is possibly more effective than the 'dud' MkXIII torpedoes that the US navy had during early 42.) The Su-2 is slow and relatively unarmoured (like the Devastator) and has light guns, 3 Shvaks, which is similar to the Devastators (f) .50 & (rear).30. Although unable to land on a carrier ,the Su-2 seems far closer ingame to this plane than the TBF-1 and for coops and offline missions, this skin may prove useful to others as it has to me. Aces of the Italian Empire
Charlie'Chap' replied to Billy Pryce's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: File Announcements
I downloaded an early version and had the same problem but you have updated it now and the download is OK. Fired it up and played the first mission.... Fun and simple. France... Got to the second briefing and the briefings are really well written. I hope the campaign goes to Greece later? or maybe Yugoslavia, sure I will spend some time in the desert ! Cannot wait to find out !. Anyhow thanks for your work Billy...if the start is anything to judge by this is a great piece of work. (note- you do not mention anywhere the Italian campaign pack (produced by none other than Gaston) being required, should maybe mention that in the read me) Charlie -
