  1. New to TrackIR 5

jwrich, See if this helps: http://snomhf.exofire.net/trackIR.html Retrieved from BHaH General Help forum. plug_nickel ps: I would advise using the "Panoview" when setting up a profile. It gives you the best point of reference when making adjustments. You'll find it under the Display (pull down) as Load Pano.
  2. YEESSS GET IN

Americans? Don't you mean "Yanks" or "Doughboys"? plug_nickel
  3. Take a look at the CoolerMaster Hyper 212+. It has a very good TDP, quiet fan the heat sink is mirror quality. I scored one at MicroCenter for $19.99 when they were running a special. plug_nickel
  4. Hasse Wind was spot on about the compatibility tweak. Here's another one: http://riseofflight.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=300&t=16756 It may "look" like you're setting core affinity, but you're actually optimizing Rof threads for dual core cpu, not the process. I've been using this along with the composition tweak and have gained 8-12fps which in actuality means that the stuttering has been "pretty much" been eliminated. If you have a PE viewer or some other editor program that will open up the file, you'll be able to see that it's pretty cool. An executable xml program. plug_nickel
  5. Graphics card driver issues

Can't help you with the ATI card but Driver Sweeper will totally clean any ATI/Nvidia driver remnants. Circle for Parky, BirdDogICT or ? to show up. As to the MS observation, I have W7 RTM 7600, Build 16835, which is a licensed copy pre release of W7_64 ultimate and it's never shown the s/n on start up. The only place I see those details is when I bring up Computer Properties or when using SIW. plug_nickel
  6. Good place to start: http://wwiaircombat.com/games/red-baron-3d/ Some of the links are dead, but you'll be able to find many of the 'choice" mods. FCJ was ok. What you really want is the FCJ gui or Reload. HASP and Western Front 2 and the Jastas are the best addons IMHO. plug_nickel
  7. 1915 Mod

    Outstanding! Thank you Sir. plug_nickel

We know who the squadron leader is at your aerodrome. plug_nickel
  9. Massive member Failure!

Well in my "anal" quest to further my understanding of Dx, .dll and .exe structure, I've been able to reproduce the original error message by altering or breaking dx***.dll structure. Both error messages seem to be pointing to .exe/dx***.dll file structure when CFS3 is installed and then copied during OFF install. CFS3 only requires Dx8 to run while OFF needs Dx8.1 or later. The original CFS3 discs have earlier Dx8 while the DVD from Ubisoft that Olham cited has later Dx8 file. It's only a guess at this point, but I'd either uninstall Dx, which will be a real hassle, or reinstall Feb and June Dx redistributables. Those 2 updates fix about 98% of the .dll errors that affect "older" games. I just hope you're not in the 2%. At least with the reinstall, you can put to rest troubleshooting any Dx issues. I'll be circling. plug_nickel
  10. Massive member Failure!

Wow...Scratching my head... Since you were able to install CFS3 from the iso images, you were able to "copy" them them cleanly otherwise you wouldn't have been able to install CFS3 from scratch. Since the error is back to the original > cd...dll...not found < message, try reinstalling June/2010 dx redistributable. You might have a "borked" dx***.dll entry. I've seen that happen in the past. plug_nickel
  11. Massive member Failure!

I just duplicated your error message. Use CFS3 Disk 1 in the drive or load an iso of it. plug_nickel
  12. Poll: How do you fly "Over Flanders Fields"? First things first, I always yell "CONTACT...CLEAR..." and then proceed to crank my pc up. plug_nickel
  13. Absolutely anything by these guys... plug_nickel
  14. Navigating by Paper Maps

Get the "heavy" clear plastic ones; they'll last a lot longer and clean easier. I'm on my second "grease" pencil. Works great! plug_nickel
  15. Trackir has completely changed the way I buy and fly sims. I don't buy or fly anything anymore unless there's some form of tracking emulation. Mouse emulation will at least give you 2DOF using Trackir and even that's several steps ahead of using a hat switch. I don't even use a hat(coolie) switch any more for viewing. I use one of my castle's for a quick snap look back over right or left shoulder. Think about how it would be to go back using a keyboard to fly. Trackir is that type of game changer. plug_nickel
  16. New Nvidia Beta drivers - 267.24

I had to roll back to 266.58 W7_64 for my GTX 260/216. For some reason(s) still unknown to me, I had texture problems with only aircraft in CFS3.1a/Firepower 1.08, Mig Ally and PTO. Scenery, terrain, effects were all fine. Just the aircraft textures were distressed. ETO and MAW, however, worked flawlessly. I had stopped using NvCpl and have been using Nvidia Inspector exclusively. Switched to N.I. when Nvidia drivers broke nHancer. So I went back and tried both in game and NvCpl to config settings; problem persisted. Rolled back and Voila! Beautiful rendering. Go figure. plug_nickel
  17. Use the Securom Removal Tool in Tranquillo's post. It's safe and won't leave any remnants on your hd. The "Tool" is the result of many complaints and a class action against Securom DRM. plug_nickel
  18. Tranquillo is right; it's a form of DRM that's supposed to inhibit illegal reproduction. The program is so "stupid", it "thinks" any cd/dvd drive in a computer is attempting to copy it. Google EA and Spore and read about the fiasco it caused. I have the dvd copy of IL-2:1946 and the best way I've found is to open IL-2:1946 and run compatibility mode for setup.exe using XP_SP3 for 32bit or SP2 for 64bit then allow autorun to start it up. Since you've gone through the Securom install/updated process, you'll need to use the Securom Uninstall Tool to remove it from the pc when you're not going to be running IL-2:1946 any more. It won't uninstall itself when IL-2 is removed. plug_nickel
  19. It helps if someone in your family is the owner of a "Rest in Pieces Memorial Gardens" or if they supply the headstones/markers for the many yet-to-be-filled plots. For a while, I was stacking up pilots like cord wood. plug_nickel
  20. Ah, I see you've experienced some "touch". plug_nickel
  21. OT Service pack 1a Windows 7

On some of the FSX sites, it's reported that SP1 isn't playing nicely with FSX, SP2, Acceleration and some FSAddons programs. I'm standing pat for the time being remembering to well what happened with XP64 SP1. plug_nickel
  22. I was keeping up with the posts on this forum and on another and after reading, I had summed up your responses to simple "teething problems" when trying to chew on OFF, possibly denture related? Another one for your collection: here in the South we call the very best sipp'n 'shine "the touch". A toast to you sir. plug_nickel.
  23. OT: I've Done It!

Look here: http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/03-enhanced-games/game-mig-alley.html In the "Tips & Tricks" text you'll find mirrors for MA_123 and the BDG .85f patches. plug_nickel
  24. OT: I've Done It!

Mig Alley runs just fine in W7_Ultimate 64 and Nvidia card. The BDG patch adds full Trackir functions and quite simply reinvents the sim. plug_nickel
  25. Problem with system

Just checkin' to see if you had had any morning joe.... plug_nickel
