  1. X52 Settings

It IS cheap and inoperative. J/k. I'm going to look for it again, although I've found two folders with subfolders. I don't really think I want to delete them both, however.
  2. X52 Settings

Thanks, I'll try that too. I posted posted about it at the forums (you probably saw it), and one of the guys there said it was, em, 'normal'. Either way, just as long as it doesn't mess with my games... Edit: Hmm, can't find the VID_06A3&PID_0255 folder. Oh well.
  3. Zooming

Hopefully TK will allow TrackIR zooming support in future games (or patches, but that's a bit of a long shot, eh?), but until then, I guess we'll have to make do. I tried mapping the zoom to the precision slider on my throttle, but that didn't work out to well (darn things way to loose for a precision slider >_>).
  4. Heres a test for you Virtual pilots

    Sweet.
  5. Is there anyway to turn them off? I know how to get the hud off, but having 'Drop Tanks Jettisoned' come up kind of takes away from the immersion factor. (I'm one of those 'hardcore' simmers, and therefore don't need those little pop-up messages :P) I've explored the flight *.ini's, but I can only get rid of the paused messages, and a couple others. (Me trying to find my way through a data file for a game would be like MacGuyver trying to make a simple machine with lots of high-tech equipment and no duct tape)
  6. That only turns off subtitles for when people talk. Messages like 'Game Paused' are what I'm talking about.
  7. Yeah, that'll really get ya in the mood. Sometimes the messages will go on forever if I pause the game...
  8. Welcome back, Wepssngt. (I was wondering how long it would be before someone started a JSF)
  9. It's the Flying Dutchman! (See? He's flying, and he looks Dutch!)
  10. I guess it kind of depends on what you want. I've never tried out any CH products, so I can't really comment on them besides the fact that they're much more expensive than your average joystick. I personally use a Saitek X52 (A company I never used products from till a few days ago, actually), and it's working out great. If you're looking for a HOTAS setup, you can find dozens of them from Saitek, CH Products, Thrustmaster, etc. If you want a basic joystick, Microsoft has served me well. *ducks before someone throws the comment back in my face* So, like everyone has said, it comes down to personal preferance and what you want.
  11. If all that's too complicated for you, the Readme included with most of the files here is a good place to start.
  12. I'm guessing it's a WWII/Post-WWII British P-51 lookalike manufactured or prototyped by some obscure Plane-parts making company.
  13. You might want to try redownloading & reinstalling the file.
  14. X52 Settings

Thanks, I'll check it out. Oh, and the throttle seems to 'twitch' (i.e., it jumps between 65% power and 66% power) even when I'm not touching it. Anyone else experience this/know how to fix it? Edit: Actually, not just the throttle, but the rotaries as well (even the thumb slider, I think). Edit: The throttle only seems to go crazy when it's centered. And in WoV it has a sort of null zone outside the detents.
  15. Try installing the latest Service Pack again. (05.15.06, I believe) Even if you've installed the patches, installing it overwrites the files (or seems to anyways), then try playing before installing the patches. But you should take all that with a mountain of salt, as I'm no expert on troubleshooting. I've little doubt someone will come up with a better/proven remedy. Edit: On second thought, you might want to just reinstall the whole game. A big hassle, I know, but if there's missing files (And that's what it sounds like to me), just the service pack might not fix it.
  16. Nevermind. USAFMTL has your answer.
  17. Actually it's Turner. :P And yeah, I know, just being random. Ok... Back on topic...
  18. Like Captain Will Sparrow and his entourage of Ice Cream Sandwiches, cursed forever by Davey Jones' Aztec Gold?
  19. I figured out what it was. Mostly it was me being dumb and not thinking to look to see if the game was using my control profile or the default one. And... Well, that's actually all of it.
  20. Yeah, that's what I did, and it still does the same thing as without the new command entries (Snap view left, right, and up. Numpad 2 does nothing by default). I just got confused with default.ini and the folder name... Edit: Wait, should it be in the default config file, my custom one, or does it not matter?
  21. This is probably just me doing something wrong, but it doesn't work for me. I put the new commands into the *.ini file (control.ini, right?), and dropped the viewpoints.ini into the flight folder, but nothing changes. The numpad keys still do the same thing (snap view by default).
  22. So basically we're just tearing apart TK's work.
  23. I have to say that the LOMAC pic (bottom one, right?) looks almost lifelike. The dip of the nose on the WOE version seems to be closer to the real thing, but the part of the leading edge that merges with the intake is a bit big. Yes, I'm nitpicky and go for the tiniest details. Edit: And the bump towards the rear is more pronounced on the WoE Eagle.
