wingmen usage?
Sky Captain replied to peppergomez's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You should be able to tell your flight (Your 3rd & 4th wingmen) to attack ground targets (Meaning they'll attack everything until they've run out of A2G munitions), and your wingman (Wingman #2) to attack the target you've selected. ('E' for ground targets, 'T' for aircraft, if I remember correctly) You can't lock-up ground returns on radar, that just shows you how far they are and where they are in relation to you. -
F-4J Hi-Res Cockpit V1
Sky Captain replied to streakeagle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
How'd I miss these this long? Great job! (Btw, large download! For those of us who are too lazy to be arsed with clicking on all those links) -
2nd Project
Sky Captain replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I'd really love to see a Skyray made. I think it was one of my first aircraft models (A cheap little plastic one, to be sure, but still neat. But nothing compared to the B-17 model I still haven't finished after 6/7 years), and besides that, it looks 1337. -
I Tawt I Saw a P-63A!!
Sky Captain replied to delang13's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You may have been in the IL2 forum, but there may very well be a P-63 (/Skin) for WoV/E. -
And actually, according to him, CH supported him 100% on this. I'm not a lefty, but I kind of wish I was: I might've been able to convince my parents to get me one since no one else makes them.

Who wants to be Chickenhawk!
Sky Captain replied to spook27's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Hawt. I've always been a helo fan, and loved to fly around guys in BF2/'42. (Yes, it's not a 'real' sim, but it's still fun) -
end UPDATE
Sky Captain replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hawtness. Just needs a good skin (and/or cockpit). -
end UPDATE
Sky Captain replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
If you want, I can try some funky cammerflarj paint. I'd need a template or something to start with, though... -
F/A-37A Talon ~ Alpha 2.0 ready for download...
Sky Captain replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Take the HUD away? Or maybe you (or someone else) could work on another version of the cockpit without the HUD, but with the MFD's (just like in the Moveh! ), but still keep this one for those who like it. Or, just leave it as it is. I don't care either way, I guess, I just want the plane. -

F/A-37A Talon ~ Alpha 2.0 ready for download...
Sky Captain replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Woohoo! Finally got it downloaded (got home day a-fore yesterday) and this new one is... ... The same? The new cockpit is cool though. (Except the HUD and temporary mock-up MFD's make me a sad panda) I really hope you're not planning on keeping that HUD there. -
Wings Over Europe: NATO Fighters
Sky Captain replied to column5's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
This is an official addon, or something the guys out here are putting together? Either way, this is one more reason for me to get WoE. -
F/A-37A Talon ~ Alpha 2.0 ready for download...
Sky Captain replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
And what area would you be shaving those polys of off her? Edit: ... Right, I need to stop thinking like that. Think of something else... Something dark, and mysterious... ... Like vaginas! Edit #2: Oh, and do you think it would be possible to give us a list of what you've updated and/or changed? (I.e., the nose... The canopy... Etc...) -
Good luck, Streak! Hope to see the finished product. (Btw, that Throttle Quad is hawt)

F/A-37A Talon ~ Alpha 2.0 ready for download...
Sky Captain replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I hope you fixed that nose and canopy, Zurawski, because if you didn't... Haha, just kidding, I'll download this as soon as I get home. (Currently stuck in Lost Vegas while my parents are at a convention. What kind of an upstanding hotel like the MGM doesn't even have the Discovery Channel!?) -

Sky Captain replied to hsj38's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: Mods & Skinning Chat
They'll be back when BoB comes out, be sure. -
Talon aircraft
Sky Captain replied to atoll1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Gerald only makes models, AFAIK. If I knew how, you can bet I'd be trying to get it flyable. -

Besides that, Zurawski's still working on her. -
Russian CALLSIGN List
Sky Captain replied to MKSheppard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Awesome. Now if we can get a Russian Red Crown... (Or rather, Rossiia) -
Well, you don't usually put down your gear in the middle of a dogfight, do you? I think Saitek put it there for those other, less used commands. And you could always use your forearm, right? Remember, though, that wouldn't be the final look of it, if they decide to put it out.
-
Was browsing their site just now and found this on their product pages. They have some pics up in the press images section too. In my opinion, this has to be one of the cooler looking of their line-up of sticks. Mainly because it doesn't look like it's been taken straight from an X-Wing or the Enterprise.
-
If they do decide to put this out, I hope they tighten up the springs, even if just a little bit. I've gotten used to the lightness of it (actually, it feels more precise then my other joysticks), but I'd still like it to feel a bit more realistic. Looking at the brace on the front, I'm thinking it's possible to remove it with little more than an allen wrench and a screwdriver. Unless of course the pinky switch is part of the hand rest on the bottom (which is attached to the brace by the screw on the front, which I don't think you're supposed to take off). I bet if I could get my old man to help, we could get it off.
-
Get rid of the funky trigger guard, and I'll bet many people will be very happy. (Btw, are those extra buttons I see on the Throttle Quadrant?)
-
Now that paintscheme is a definite improvement over the current one. I wonder if you'll be able to trade in your current Saitek for a Pro model?

x52 profile?
Sky Captain replied to Draakje's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Last I checked you could assign those just fine. Why you'd want to is beyond me, but it should work.
