  1. So, is it just me doing something wrong, or is the MiG-25 by Wpnssgt incompatible with newer versions of SFP1/WoV/WoE? Would there be any way to get around this while waiting for the new versions he's working on? If not, oh well, I can wait.
  2. Just copy the contents of a fresh, unmodded install to a different folder (or folders) and, presto!, multiple installs. Then you can patch them up to the needed version, and install your mods, all the while having a 'clean' install to play normally.
  3. Does it do the same thing in any other games?
  4. The 'IR' is simply for the Heat-seeking missiles, such as the Sidewinder.
  5. FSX demo news..

Or get it at filefront here. Downloaded, gonna install in a bit. (50 bucks says my computer blows up upon game start-up)
  6. I think someone is/was working on a B-1B, wpnssgt has a B-2 on his to-do list (it's waay down on his to-do list, though), and as for the others... I don't think so. Some may be working on them, but if they are, they've been quiet about it...
  7. Teh ausome new helichoppers capun posted. Here's what ye do: Move which ever files need moving into the right folders (weapons folder, for example), add whatever text needs addin' to wherever they need to be added (Weapondata, Gundata, etc.), then open up the Weapon Editor (If you have the latest weapon pack, dated July 3rd, it should be in the Weapon and Gun Editors folder), then open Weapondata, or Gundata, and down at the bottom should be the new weapons. Save the file (DO NOT! 'save as,' just save), and presto, your shiny new blower-uppers should be there.
  8. Good luck USAF, thanks for all the help you've given, to me and the community. And fer the mods as well.
  9. In the 1960's/70's era aircraft, I don't believe CCIP or CCRP were implemented in the bombsight. At least not in the aircraft included with the games. AFAIK, one of the easiest bombing techniques is dive bombing, which is fairly accurate as well. You can find a guide on various techniques here.
  10. The bombing range is only for bombing runs, practice flights, and stuff. You can't run any intercept or A2A missions on it. As for the B-58 not working with it... I have no idea.
  11. Google Map's Flight Sim

Meh, that flight model is WAAAY off, a biplane could never go up down up down 200 times in a row that quickly. It would tear apart in a heartbeat. And the total absence of a cockpit view takes 90% of the realism out. And those graphics are sooo 2005. About the only thing that saves this sim is the great ground textures... :tomato2: Sorry, couldn't resist.
  12. Yeah, that's what's so cool about the series. It's practically open source, allowing you to change, add, or take away practically everything. You name it, and it can most likely be done.
  13. You can't run MIGCAP or Escort missions on the bombing range. Also, make sure you use the regular Range for 'blue' planes, and the Red Range for MiG's, Su's, etc. As for the MiG's not showing up in recent dates, that's because they were retired from service long before 2006. If you go into the jet's Data.ini files, you can change the service start & end years to keep them in use longer (although they won't be much of a challenge for F-14's, Hornets, etc. )
  14. Forgive me

Yeah, that desk is gonna be in a load of trouble... *sigh* They just don't make desks like they used to, eh?
  15. I think he's talking about the enemy AI, not your wingmen.
  16. Open up the Data.ini files, (They'll have the jet name right before 'Data') and scroll down to 'AttachmentType=.' Most likely it says WP, change it to Soviet. Do the same for the rest of the weapon slots. Edit: For the AI, I don't think there's a way to allow/make them use any weapons other than the internal guns/gun pods.
  17. But one of the best things about this game (or series of games) has got to be the support. If you post a problem at the Thirdwire support forums, TK is almost certain to help you out himself, along with the rest of the non-technically challenged (which is a group I'm certainly not part of) who hang out there. It's a lot like with the IL-2 series, except Mr. Maddox doesn't have that much time to answer the various threads directed to him.
  18. A Jessica Biel pilot model would probably get download a million times the first day it's put up.
  19. You can find the F-14A at colun5.us, I believe.
  20. So, I take it you were a U-2 pilot yourself? If so, my hat's off to you.
  21. Flak in WOV

You have to watch them suckers. Dodging those things can be quite challenging, but it can get kind of fun jinking around in a Scooter. Then again I'm the one who finds being lifted out of my roller coaster seat on a steep fall fun. I find that diving like a starving Peregrine Falcon is a good way to lose SAM's.
  22. I don't know of a way to set the screen to look up/down a few degrees, but you can change your default field of view when the mission starts. Go into viewlist.ini (Wings Over Vietnam > Flight), scroll down to [ViewClass002], and look for 'FOV'. By default it's at 60, you can change that your likings. (I.e., 90 degrees, which is max FOV, or 15 degrees, which is minimum FOV) If you can't find the viewlist.ini file, you may have to extract it. In that case, download the SFP1E Extract Utility (Downloads > Strike Fighters/Wings Over Vietnam > SF Utilities Editors > Second Page), install it, then open it up and go to your Flight folder, open up FlightData.CAT, and scroll all the way down. Viewlist should be about 4 files from the bottom. I don't believe there's a way to map buttons to change your FOV instantly, sadly. (You play the IL-2 series, don't you? :P) Hope this helps.
  23. Here's some more... Um, I guess input on the nose. You may just want to flatten it a bit (or make it not come to a point, more a rounded squarish shape), and make the top of it, along with the cockpit, flat and smooth.
  24. www.Zur-Tech.com (You can also the find the beta hotfix there, adjusts some stuff) I've been recently flying against the F-19 as a sort of EDI stand-in, and it's really fun flying against something *switches to bumbling-guard-from-Pirates of the Caribbean voice* as can match the Talon for speed.
  25. Yeah, I fixed it. Changing the minbase thingy seems to have done it. Now i'm waiting for someone to do a Foxhound.
