Looks like ADX Florence gets a new guest soon.

I got obsessed with RAF Bomber Command after reading Martin Middlebrooks' books back in the early 90s. The sheer guts that those lads had to have to go out on those missions is something you won't find much of thses days.

Things like this really confirm a cynical view of sociopolitical bull#^%$ artists.

Actually the only drug i do is alcohol. As a matter of fact i'm on the tailend of a 4 day binge at the motel. Cost more than i expected but what the hell, i needed to be alone and intoxicated. Tommorrow i'm back on the streets but at least i got really good leads recently. First off, i should be able to get back to a job i had years ago as they are very busy and need lots of help. Also, i was talking to a guy from the Teamsters and he told me i ought go next week and sign on. At the very least i'll get on the C list and will get maybe a single day a week. If all turns out well i should get a place in about 2 months or so. I've been looking hard at various things that can give me an edge and basically it comes down to various redbull + "cocktails" i used to rely on years ago to get wired for work. I'm also looking for the strongest painkillers i can get over the counter that can be taken on a long term basis.

So here i am in a motel room for the next day or so. After this i'll find a spot to camp out as i'm loath to spend crucial money on a Salvation Army rent a bed. I'll check out a job i looked into a few months ago as well as a temp company i'm registered with and the union i've been a sometimes member of for years. If nothing comes about by the end of this week, i'll put in applications at some leads i got before getting the chop. I need whatever money i have for transportation as it costs a lot to be able to be able to relocate anywhere in the lower 48 within two days notice, which is my usual guarantee to employers. South Dakota i've looked at for some time but it's a million to one shot seeing as i don't have any specialized skill to offer. I've known of positions available as the low man on the totem pole on drilling rigs but i honestly doubt i can do the work without substantial chemical assistance to say the least. I can't fool myself that i can plain outwork someone half my age out there anymore. Not without a drugstores worth of painkillers at the very least along with maybe some quality meth to keep me going. The reality is that for all intents and purposes, my time is pretty much up. The endgame is seemingly being played out. The next moves will be very crucial.

One thing for sure. As soon as i get to where i'm going, i'm picking up a cheap small caliber pistol and some tools and parts to make a supressor.. I"m too old to be tolerating any significant amount of disrespect from anyone. The next time someone crosses the line i'm not going to say boo, i'm simply going to kill them the first reasonable chance i can get. Next, i've pondered what to do for a more lucrative income and have come to the realization that i've more or less reached the end of the line. For good paying jobs in certain industries i'm either too old for entry level or i physically cannot perform the work as my body is too worn out from a lifetimes worth of serious injuries and medical neglect. This will be the last kitchen i intend to work at as by the end of the shift i'm usually in considerable pain. I'm thinking hard about throwing fortune to the wind one last time in the next year or so and if nothing pans out, calling it a day. Life wearies me.

How to intercept Bombers?
Lt. James Cater replied to Abhi's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Getting gun kills on the Iron Beagles is trick but doable. For starters you have to think of which one of a flight you will be going after in a formation. The inner two are not worth it due to incoming fire from the rest is you come in from dead 6. The best way to go about it is to go for the wingmen. Don't just think you'll fly right in and blast away, you'll have to dodge some damn persistant enemy fire as you are going to work. Myfavorite two methods are... 1- come in manuvering wildly from 6 low to level and time and time the rear gunner's bursts. At the moment of truth you can slide right behind the bomber and blast away., and 2-If the bombers are high enough yuo can come in for a classic attack von unten hilten. If your timing is right you can get below a bomber, chop the throttle, and pull the nose up while spraying the bomber from nose to tail. -
We should just pull out everything out of both countries and leave them to their fate. http://www.telegraph...illed-live.html Another Washington political screwup IMO. When all that crap was going down in Libya and Egypt i told everyone that would listen that the #$^% was going to backfire on us if we didn't stay out of it and minded our own business. The last thing we need now is to get involved in the Syrian situation. Their problems, their solutions. BTW- Anyone want to bet that they'll just increase aid to those places? Hey Dave, can you delete the thread i started? This one came in a few minutes ahead.

http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/09/03/2983362_p2/cocaine-godmother-griselda-blanco.html I lived in Miami when this evil witch kicked off the Cocaine Wars. Frankly, i'm amazed she lasted as long as she did once she was out of prison.

Not quite. This lady was the absolute worst of the worst. I've lived in areas that had a hell of a lot of people involved in the drug trade and no one came close to the blood spilled or the problems she caused. And she didn't care a bit that she was bringing down all kinds of heat, she would go to war with anyone. It was noted in retrospect, that when she left Miami for southern California, the murder rate noticeably dropped. There was nothing like her for pure carnage in the cocaine trade at the time.

I saw this a few hours ago. Last person i thought would be dying that young.

Is missile malfunction simulated?
Lt. James Cater replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I remember firing a Falcon at a MIG 21 flying perfectly straight and level and having the damn thing just zip by the target and keep going. Also, in the early WOE campaigns the Aim9B is more or less garbage at low level while intercepting IL28s but at altitude it does a lot better. -
Why is everybody bugging out from SF series?
Lt. James Cater replied to FLOGGER23's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I've never gotten to Gen 2 for the simple reason that my E Machines T-3120 could barely handle the Steel Tiger campaign in WOV Gold and WOE with certain mods. I've always been envious of those of you running the new stuff until quite recently. Between reading about all the hassles here in this forum and being away from the sim due to my current job and location, i no longer feel that bad. I'm an average player. Nothing more, nothing less. I've been curious about modding but don't have a jack#%$& clue about how to go about it despite having asked sometime before. I use what mods i think will add a bit more something to what i'm doing. Over the last six years i've had a blast flying whenever i could despite some times when everything seemed to be going wrong. The DiD challenge? To me it's an honor to be the first to have posted an AAR and have been the last to have kept it going. Even now i'm thinking of when i get things together again and posting the results. I have no intention of bugging out. Here i'll stay. -
WOV Videos In Youtube
Lt. James Cater posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Someone asked me if i can show them a video so he can see something of WOV GOLD but i can't find anything. There are more than a few vids out there (including Stary's great Green Hell vid) but none that i've found show the full fury of the flak and SAMs. Anyone have anything? -
I'm just beginning my search so i figured i'd ask here too. I'm at Grand Canyon North Rim for the next few months and then it's off to either Zion or Big Bend National park until next June. One thing about being in these places is communications is rather sketchy (My cell phone doesn't even work here)and sometimes the boredom can be staggering, hence the heavy drinking that is rather common amongst employees. Anyways, we have WIFI here and considering the crap state of the community computers here i figured i better do like many others and get a laptop to keep up with things and while away the times without drowning in a tidal wave of beer. Might as well do a lot of poker as well as doing some kind of blog. Any suggestions to something cheap and reliable? I've owned a number of computers but this will be my first ever laptop so i'm sorta flying blind on this.

Looking For Inexpensive Reliable Laptop
Lt. James Cater replied to Lt. James Cater's topic in The Pub
Basically it's for general websurfing activities. But maybe sometime soon i should hope to get back flying again in WOV Gold and WOE as well as doing Rome:Total War. My current gaming rig is a 6 year old E-machines T-3120 that has served well but obviously it can't handle some of the newer stuff around. My main thing is doing a lot of online poker as i intend to enter two events at next years World Series Of Poker and i need to be in top form for those. -
Where i'm at now was evacuated a few years ago due to a fire and when i was a Zion 10 years ago a sizable fire was so close we had to sleep in our clothes and with escape kits ready. Heading off to work in the morning was like walking through a thick fog. The thing of some of these locations is that a fire at certain points can cut you off from anything other than pretty hairy trails that might have to be taken at a run and in the dark.

Thanks for the vid! Here's my contribution...

People at the bottom are destined to remain there. It's been roughly three weeks since i relocated and hit skid row once again. Since then i've been tracking down various job leads and doing applications. Anyways, being on skid row exposes one to some truly pathetic examples of manhood. So much whining about the "System" and "The Rich" and what "The government should give us" for example. Worst of all are in two categories- A...Those of job age who are in good health but won't get off their ass, and B...Older men who don't have a thing to show for all their time spent on earth. Lord help you around here if you have plans or ambitions. You spend enough time talking to people or listening in on conversations and without a doubt you'll know that you are truly amongst the bottom dwellers. To the victor go the spoils. It's as easy as that. You live to be nothing and nothing is what you surely will be. Anyone here out of alignment with their mindset will be treated with the harshest of scorn. F@$#k Them All! May their worthless corpses fill paupers graves. Someday i shall think of the filth while drinking champagne on a tropical beach. (Eighth Rule Of Carney) Conquer or perish!

Just got a call earlier. I'll be in Arizona in a few weeks working in a national park for 3 months then i intend to transfer to Texas. That'll hold me until next June when i'll head back to civilization. I'll bet any amount of money that come next year at the same time there will be many of the same faces around here doing nothing. BTW-In no way do i consider work a "Right" You want it? Go get it!

What really bugs the hell out of me is a collection of "men" that don't have the balls to look at the situation they're in and figure out a way out on their own. Fact of homeless life...If you are a single male of job age in relatively good health, you got nothing coming. It's pretty much you against the world. If you're a junkie, drunk, or layabout, it's such an easier life. A particular pain in the ass is older f#%$ks who get checks that can easily pay for rent, food and such, but choose to spend it on getting a motel room and partying the money away. The vast majority don't even last a week and then back to the shelters. The s**ts get priority because of age and so get in ahead of anyone younger than 50. Many times no one but them make it in. Me? I'm renting a bed at Salvation Army. Costs $220 a month. If i don't get a job within the next two weeks or so i'm going to camp out. I've been everywhere in this area and know multiple spots. Just have to worry about keeping clean enough to look for work. Every single day you find a number of people at the shelters who do nothing but hang around doing absolute jacks**t. They can easily tell you of every foodline within a mile though as well as when they serve. They can also advise you of a number of welfare scams. "Getting over" instead of getting a job is the common attitude and welfare instead of work is the goal. Nothing but a cesspool of human sewage. As i said before-F$%k Them All.
