  1. I thought that at least US Navy was showing some interest in meteor for it's F/A-18E/F. I've read something about it, but it was a few years back. It might have been bogus or not current.

    And can we have a commie side campaign? Or, how are the NF campaings copyrighted? I have build Czechoslovakia side campaigns for WoE and I'd like to post them as a NF mod. So you get all the variety of AC in NF and some more.
  3. What is missing? What we NEED is a better mission editor. CA_Stary wrote it better than me. What I'd like? -more interaction - Red Crown really manages the mission (vectors sweeping and escorting AC into bogies, etc..) - FACs really "rock their wings" and do the other FAC stuff (like mark targets) - more comm chatter - Feet dry, wet, carrier LSO guides you down - your WSO/EWO/RIO does something (at least call out bogies) -avionics - some light simulation of eras weapons delivery systems (LABS, DIANE, Thundestick...) - ILS, ACLS, Ball... - support for ECM, AEW, AAR, transport aircraft and missions I very much like the sim as it is and deeply respect what TK and out modding community has already done for us, so all this are only unimportant details.

Do you mean speed that aircraft are assigned by mission generator (if you look at planning map it's the speed at each waypoint, it works similarily for AI flights as they fly their own waypoints)? This is taken from "aircraft's name"_data.ini file (for stock aircraft you have to extract it from objectdata.cat using the cat extractor foung here in downloads/utilities) tag [FlightControl] entry CruiseSpeed= There are several problems asociated with it. First, this number is in meters per second while in game speed is measured in knots. Also the number you see in planing map is true airspeed (the speed you are moving in relation to the ground), not the indicated airspeed (that the instruments report and that is affected by low air pressure at altitude). Some airecraft have a true airspeed indicator.
  5. Apart form AircraftType= and DefaultTexture= it is also imporatnt to check drop tanks entries in supply section. Most 3rd party aircraft use their own tanks and you wouldn't be able to load those default ones. The name of the tank could be found in aircraft's loadout.ini or in data.ini under FuelTankName= tag for each weapon station.

    Poslední dobou se plácám s kampaní z KV. Zatím je víceméně hotová část od 25.6.1950 do 15.9.1950. tj. Severokorejský útok na jih. Jednotky jsou historicky přesné. Akorát všichni začínají 25.6., ne ve správný den, protože se jinak v kampani (někdy) neobjeví. Ke hraní je potřeba terén z Korean War modu (jde sehnat tady na CA), nejlépe s patchem. Dále jsou potřeba tyto jednotky: T-34/85 ShermanE8 US_Squad_early VC_Squad letadlovky: CVA-34 Bulwark CVE-118 letadla: F-51D F-80 Shooting Star F-82 A-26b B-29 F9F-5 F4U-2 (zatim neni F4U-5N) F4U-4 F4U-4B AD-4 AD-4N seafire47 Firefly La-7 Yak-9U Yak-3 Il-2m3 Přivítám otestování a komentáře.     Nasel jsem F7F tigercat a F8F Bearcat i M24 chafee. Super. Tady http://www.geos-aircraft.com/ Jo a Wrench s Capunem tu chybu v bansheem a Skysnightu nasli. Musis vypnout ty "vrtulovy" motory co tocej turbinama a u skyknighta se take musi prekuchat nastaveni podvozku.

    Tak me do prdele poslal i Capun. Moc modelu, malo casu. Litejte na normal. Spis mi vadi ze mi to mohl rict uz vcera a ne predstirat reseni. Navic nejsem jedinej kdo si u nej stezuje na stejny problemy. Moc radost z toho nemam.

    Asi prejdu na letovy model normal. Na hard ma zatim proste prilis mnoho letadel nejake problemy. Pathch toho hodne rozhodil, zvlast u vrtulovych letadel. Tenhle fix se musi uplatnit na vechny letadla co tahaj ocas po zemi. Do MaxSteeringAngle= se musi strcit kladny cislo. Problem se skyraiderama je ze po novym patchy sou strasne podmotorovany. Jo a muzes ukojit moji morbidni zvedavost? Co si ti dva provedli tak strasnyho?

    Co nadelame. Ted jsem jeste z hruzou zjistil ze mi uplne stejne blbne i F3D a s dost vrtulovejma letadlama se neda odstartovat z ranveje. F4U-4B si napriklad snadno rozmlati vrtuli o zem, Skyraidery maj nejak podezrele slabej motor. I bez vyzbroje sotva drzej ve vzduchu dost divny. Registrovanej tam jsem a jdu se zeptat. Tobe ty letadla fungujou normalne?

    Tak sem se snazil zjistit co je s tim bansheem a Dave me velmi diplomaticky poslal do prdele. Clovek musi to politiku milovat.
  15. When I try to fly any of Capun's F2H Banshees, the game loads normaly and after a short moment in cockpit it crashes. FM is set to Hard and it happens during runway takeoffs. If i try to start in the air, I get all grey wiew with only the aircraft info table that says 1 knt, 1 ft, 0 deg. Has anyone encountered a similar problem, or has a solution? If this was covered elswhere then I am sorry. I searched the forum and found nothing. I've also tried several landing gear damping factor fixes discussed here without success.

    Ta fotka je vice nez presvedciva. Jeste me napadlo, ze mozna 60-lb rakety vubec neslo z mustangu odpalovat. Vsechny letadla co je pouzivaly je odpalovaly z list. Mustang takovy listy nema. Ma jenom takovy mini zavesniky(stubs). Jinak mam problem protoze v novem patchy mi F2H-2 nefunguje. Obejvis se na ranveji a hra po chvilce spadne(CTD). Skusim se zeptat na hlavnim foru. Uz brzo bude hotova ofenziva OSN. Pak pride na radu Chosin, ale nemam predstavu jak donutit AI, aby se "probijelo z obkliceni". Mozna jim cilovy pristav dat jako hl. mesto, takze pak vlastne budou utocit :-)

    Pravda je ze dost FM potrebuje upravit. Yaky-3 a F-82 maj tendenci behem manevrovani padat do vyvrtky (a AI se z ni nedokaze vymotat). A navic se mi na nich nelibi, ze vsechna vrtulova letadla zvaldaji naprosto uzasne uhly nabehu. Navic az Wrench dodela novej teren, budou potreba upravy. Tenhle ma svoje chyby. Hlavne ta uzasna dira u Toko-ri. Ty problemy s Exerience jsou asi spis v AI samotne. Porad se snazi s tessim a rychlejsim letadlem vymanevrovat pomalejsi a obratnejsi. Hawker Sea Fury samozdrejme bude. Na HMS Triumph proste zadne nebyli. Do Koreje se dostali az na HMAS Sydney cca tyden pred koncem teto kampane. V dalsich castech uz budou. Minout Wrenchovy stranky, no uz za sebou zatahuju viko od kanalu. Je tam jak Po-2, tak skiny na F2H. Skouknu. U tech skinu jde fakt jen o insignije. Aby na nich nebyly rude hvezdy.

    Po prohledání všech svých knih jsem zjistil, že mám přesně jednu fotografii mustangu 77. squadrony RAAF. A ta je dost nekvalitní. Posuď sám: Ten flek na ní je podle mě HVAR. 60-lb raketa měla hlavici takovou "kulatější". Jinak mám dost fotek mustangů SAAF a ty maj všichni HVARy. Jinak naprosto nerozumím účelu kolonky Experience u squadron. Severokorejci se zkušeností 20 (tj. sotva tu sovětskou **** držím ve vzduchu) docela proháněj amíky se zkušeností 80+. Že by revoluční zápal? Jo zapoměl jsem tam napsat, že 77 squadron má v týhle verzy místo mustangů letadla CAC Kangaroo.(Prostě se mi líběj, no ) Na mustangy to de přehodit snadno. Stačí jenom zakomentovat a odkomentovat příslušné časti [AirUnitxxx]. Kangaroo stejně používá stejné zbraně a nádrže jako mustang. Navís skoro stejně i vypadá. K naprosté zpokojenosti mi chybí jen několik věcí. NAS 827 by asi měla mít spíš Firefly FR.1, ne FR.4 (tu s chladičem pod motorem), ale model asi neexistuje. K Yaku-3 a Šturmoviku (a Pe-2, to do budoucna) neexistuje korejský skin(on by se také hodil skin na F2H s trochu normálnější barvou, nechceš se dobrovolně přihlásit? ) . Jsou problémy s objevováním později začínajících jednotek. Asi vyházím nehratelné squadrony USN. Vím, že Wrench udělal ini hack nějakýho dvouplošníku na Po-2, ale nemůžu ho za boha najít. Místo shermanu by tam měl být M-24 Chafee, ale nemám ho a nevím, kde sehnat.

You'll need the Korea terrain (from Korean Air War mod by Edward). Required ground objects are: T-34 ShermanE8 VC_Squad US_Squad_early recommended are era specific AAA guns. required Carriers: CVA-34 Bulwark CVE-118 required aircraft: F-51D F-80 Shooting Star F-82 A-26b B-29 F9F-5 (as there is no F9F-2, 2B) F4U-2 (as there is no F4U-5N) F4U-4 F4U-4B AD-4 AD-4N seafire47 Firefly CA-15B (CAC Kangaroo Mk.2 from A-Team, non historic, but i like it. Entries for correct F-51 aircraft are in the no. 77 squadrons entry, simply switch the ";") La-7 Yak-9U Yak-3 Il-2m3 (as there is no Il-10) here is the file KW1.zip Major problem are squadron start dates as they usualy don't appear at all. So all units start at 6/25/50. I'll preciate any information about ROKAF involvement in the war as all books I have ignore the issue. Comments and constructive criticism are welcome.

  23. MiG-21MA

    Vigilants partial guide to MiG-21 variants: MiG-21F: Initial production version. Armed with 2 x NS-30 30mm cannons with 60 rounds/gun (Mirage Factory version has only 30 rounds per gun. I don't know why all, information i have found say 60). I was a clear weather day point defence interceptor, but strangely did not have appropriate radar. It only has a small ranging unit for gun aiming. It was quickly replaced with F-13 version. Only small number build. MiG-21F-13: Improved version of F. One was NR-30 removed and ammo capacity reduced to 30 rounds. It was the first version armed with guided missiles - IR guided R-3S. MiG-21PF: All weather interceptor fitted with RP-21 Saphire radar. Heavier weight somewhat compensated by bit more powerful engine. As a product of "dogfights are obsolete" design philosophy it was armed only with two missiles (R-3S of RS-2US). Principal weakness was very high landing speed. MiG-21PF-V: Tropicanized version of PF for service in Vietnam. MiG-21PFM: This version aimed on solving most PF's problems. Low speed handling was improved by blown flaps (stream of air taken from engine compressor is directed on landing flaps lovering landing speed.) Braking parachute is relocated. Once again a bit more powerfull engine. Almost all other systems were same as on PF. Late production aircraft had better ejection seat. In WoX series PFM has a GP-9 gunpod on centerline hardpoint. In reality only some aircraft had the necessary wiring and reduced range due to the missing droptank was not popular. MiG-21R: Tactical recon version with increased fuel capacity in heigtened fuselage spine. Fuel capacity was also inceased by adding two wing hardpoints for fuel tanks. Saphire radar instalation was fully retained and R could be used as an interceptor. Centerline hardpoint was used for recce pod (day photo, night photo, elint and ecm version). It had 2x32 chaff dispersers (Not moded in game i think). MiG-21M(A): Version halfway between R and MF. More or less an R with fully wired outer wing hardpoints and GSh-23 cannon. see Kukulinos post. MiG-21MF: Differences from M/R series were: More powerfull engine, canopy periscope, gunblast deflector, ejection seat. In game MF carries R-60M missiles, this was in reality probably not possible. MiG-21MF "Gray": Last MFs delivered to Czechoslovakia were somewhat different from "standart" version. These aircraft delivered in blue-gray camo (thus their nickname) had some Bis version features - rearanged cockpit and newer radios. Fuel system was also different. MiG-21MFN: 10 MFs modified with NATO compatible radios, iff beacon and new radio altimeter for Czech airforce in 1999-2000. R-60M missile integrated. this can contain some errors as I am writing it from top of my head.
  24. Excelent that there is the new mig 15 FM. I'll try it. I can do/understand only basic aircraft data.ini editing. I don't have even the slightest idea about FM changes. (But yes, B-29 si overpowered, overarmored, overgunned...) Po-2 and Il-10 will be "played" by similar AC like you mentioned. As for the other soviet "what-ifs", it is almost impossible to say what was really there. Soviet and chinese records are incomlete (and were routinely falsified at the time) and NK are unavailable (and even less reliable). Also many soviet aircraft look very similar: any yaks, lavockins 7,9,11 and yak 11, mig-15/la-15, pe-2 and tu-2. Many books i've read describe same events and involve different aircraft. For example Lt. Bordelons kills were described as la-9 or yak-11 and pe-2 or tu-2. As for the other UN aircraft - I know that USAF used AT-6 in Korea as FAC. I dont know in what units, so if someone can enlighten me, they will be there :-) F3D is included, i forgot to mention it. If there is a tigercat, there is a place for it reserved with VMF(N)-513 :-) What role should ASW Avengers play? If someone has any info about ROKAF it will be most welcome.
  25. Well, I am working on a Korean war campaign. I downloaded the Korean war mod (from CA). Found that it has some issues. And tried to improve it. Currenty the entire UN side is rebuild, ground combat and frontline shift happens. NK ofensive, Inchon, (Suwon) and Chosin sholud happen. You can fly for USAF, USN, USMC, RN, RAN and SAAF. Historicaly accurate units. Flyable aircraft are: F-51 F-80 F-82 F-84 F-86 (I use the new Sabre pack, but it imbalances the game a bit as mig 15 ufo flight model si preserved {is there a mig 15 FM comparable to Sabre packmodel}) F-94 A-26B,C AD F4U-4, 4B F9F F2H Sea Fury Seafire Firefly meteor F.8 Needs to be done: Include NK airforce (with yaks, lavockins, sturmoviks, peshkas and polikarpovs) Add VC-3 dets. (F4U and F6F nightfighters) ground combat balancing (use infantry or vehicles only?) maybe expand USN a bit (imclude correct carrier rotation, but during the war 17 US carriers operated there. Lot of work.) Not tested with new patch (I've patched today) uses the old terrain I can post this unfinished version here for testing if you are interested.
