Yes, I agree. It also looks as though the sim. leans one way a tad. I have read some specs. on the 120c and b but as you say varients are also out there. I guess the best approach would be to take the least affective one. Considering the 15 has all those other nice features.lol.

Ha. Oh so true and I don't think we will live long enough to see a perfect patch. Each time you make a change you have to follow the tree structure to see what it effects. Most of the time that is done but dear old software programming always finds a way to screw up something you don't expect. Limb was too small to notice. LOL.
-
Fix something and break another. Sound familiar.hee hee. I think it must be something to do with software programming. That seems to be the pattern with software patches of any kind.

Got mine in bedroom, so I can hit the floor flying.lol

I find it quite interesting to note the laptop specs. and the desktop. Correct me if I am wrong but it seems a desktop with much the same or better specs. does not run as good as the laptops seem too.You would think it should be the other way around. The reason I mention this is I just upgraded to windows 7 x64, on my desktop which is built to take what Lockon has to offer yet when I see somepeople running this sim. on a laptop, they seem to have an easier time of it and running smoother. Very strange! Have you noticed the same?

Before I bought this I tried a couple of ATI cards from the guy's who build my computer. Now I will state right now that I only used these cards on lockon Fc1.1 and F4AF. I had no luck getting them adjusted. That was under windows xp sp2. They ran very hot so we put in the cooler and larger case fans. I had to go back to a way earlier driver to get any satisfaction at all and still had bad shimmers and zaggies. I went back and ordered the card I have now and it has performed upto expectations. Kept the cooler and case fans as they are great in summer. I always had nvidia cards till I tried the 2 ATI's and I decided to stay with Nvidia. Now before I get blasted(lol), other people have had success with ATI cards. This is just my personal experience and everyone has their own flavor. I think if I had an ATI card that was not up to scratch, I would have a look around to see what other people have to say on ATI vs Nvidia and stand by for a lot of techie stuff that will scramble your mind.LOL. Cheers and hope you get your problem sorted out and enjoy your sims.

Yes there seems to be a problem with ATI cards and it is probably driver related to the card. You have seen the posts , that you have in your post here and they are about the only help you will find for now. There is I and I will say believe that ED is going to put a patch out for FC2.0. When is a ?? Sorry can't help with ATI, I got rid of mine and went back to nvidia cards. Run cooler and drivers seem to work better. Now you ATI guys take it easy on me.LOL.

Cali: That I think was me and yes when i inquired at the E-shop, they gave me the cost to receive the box version from the U.K., It was slightly over 60.00us plus customs and excise tax. As it stand right now from what I have been able to find out. It has to be purchased in the U.K.(closest spot) as at present time no North American distributors have come forward to carry this update. PC games are not the bread and butter of distributors here so not likely to carry update.

It's been a pleasure and I will be around more. I run on a made system. Windows 7 x64, Intel core 2 duo,2.2ghz,asus gt9600 oc, 4mb ram,500mg hdd,lg flatronwide, x52 and rudder pedals, 500 watt psu, intel p5l mb and artic ice cooler for card also run 120mm case fans(3).Run max settings and average between 30-90 fps sometimes higher at altitude.

NOW, that's what I call a darn good idea. I thought that it might be like fc1.1 where I lost a dvd from trying to save it for a backup disc. Putting it in every 7 days takes its toll, but still working thank god. Thanks for that great idea, I guess I will be playing sooner than later. Cheers. OH, AND I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT I HAVE RECEIVED MORE FEEDBACK AND IDEAS THAN ANY OTHER FORUM, INCLUDING WELL I WILL LEAVE THE NAME OUT. GREAT PLACE TO BE. THANKS VERY MUCH.
-
Cali: For the cd version, it will cost most North American users at least 60 bucks. Hoping for a distributor over this way. Right now it will be U.K. end of May. Still worth the price by the way. Looking forward to it and watching the forums in the mean time and watching everyone have a good time.Disappointment for me but worth the wait. I have all the versions on cd. Just me, I would rather have a cd version.

Squid: Yes those are real issues. I am hoping that some of the issues you pointed out will be in the patch. Yet for some reason it may have to do with using some of the BS engine. I just don't know. You are not the only one to question these things. I think over a period of time ED will get the feedback and if it is an easy solution, may just see some of the things you mentioned, get fixed. All in all it is great that ED decided to do this update and intends to put out at least one patch on FC2.0. This is more than I think the community had hoped for. Good on ED.

Ruggbutt: Thanks man, great info. I would also assume that some of the mods are no longer required for FC2.0 as I understand it. Yes the community is always great to answer or help solve a problem. As you say just ask. I am looking forward to flying FC2.0. I also understand that some of the more well done skins and mods will be available soon. Your right, it is just out and it will take time to get mods for FC2.0 but I think they are not as much needed as they were in FC1.1. I have that f-15 of guy's and it is great. Not a mud mover but the A-10 is also there. Doing profiles for different a/c is no big deal like you say. Been playing with that software for years, so no problem dong that as many people are the same. It is new and anything new you need to just suck it up and get used to it. Weve all done it and will continue. Hell BS was no walk in the park. Cheers pal and thanks. Got more info from you tonight than a week looking on forums. LOL.

Ruggbutt: I know what you are saying and yes everything you said is quite true from what I have heard. I have also heard of difficulties with other things, probably not the important things, as FC2.0 has corrected a lot of the errors we asked for and the patch I would assume will take care of the rest. I am just going by what I have read on the forums. Thanks for a great walk through of the more important issues that have been fixed. This is great info and I do thank you. I guess some of the problems reported are more in the how to mod and get your setups working with FC2.0, etc. and I think most people get this sorted out. Hope they share and continue to share their findings to make it easier on us flyers who have not yet got their hands on FC2.0. I am waiting to hear about a North American release of a hard copy but by end of June if nothing is forthcoming, I will get the download. Thanks again for a great post on the combat of FC2.0!!!

Squid and Cali: Thanks for your thoughts. Appreciate it. All in all from what I have read on different forums FC2 can be a real pain in the a..! The more that it gets purchased the more people seem to dis-like it. Too many of the FC1 features are gone. Looking good is one thing but can I or we stand for all the negatives unless there is going to be a patch to fix it. I hear some say there will and some say this the patch for FC1. If that is the case FC1 may still be more fun. I just don't know. Seems like the cons side is outreaching the Pros side. I would like, if I purchase to have the CD version but like I have said it sounds like the closes place to North America will be the E-shop in U.K.. Hope this is not true.

Hi; Conversations with the tower and wingmen were always part of 1.12 and 1.0 from what I remember. Waiting for CD or DVD version of 2.0 so I am relying on comments to give me a sense of what FC 2.0 can do. From what I have gathered so far is it has it's usual quirks, for, I will say new product , although it is somewhat of a patch.(big). What I have noted is most everyone agrees that the graphics are great, some of the important wish list items have been fixed, however some things have been broken for now. That was expected till the first patch to clean up those and I assume a small patch will be out to fix those. If not FC2.0 could be bothersome. From the posts I have read so far, I think Fc2.0 is a hit and I am sure I will enjoy it as much as all previous versions. There is always tweaking to do regardless of what sim you fly. This is no different. As mentioned above once everything is setup and tweaked, the sim. is worth the price of admittion. Looking forward to May or June. The only thing I have not found is, will it be available in North America as a CD version......so far it looks as though it may have to be purchased in UK. Hope someone will have some info on this as the release date for the hard copy draws near.

LOMAC CLOUD PROBLEM
rattler1 replied to niro's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Try and use the Q settings. Example 4aa and 4xqaf. Should not have impact on FPS.You could go as high as 16xqaf don't use regular 4 or 8 or 16af got to have the Q.If you could tell me your CP setting, I might be able to suggest other settings to try and no FPS hits. I am using Nvidia 174.74. No problems. SLI is a Problem have to disable one. -
Thank You MK2 for all your support. You have made this site one of the best for all simmers to ask , find answers and great downloads. Much appreciated!!!!

Saitek x52 useless in LOMAC?
rattler1 replied to CollapseSociety's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Ya, that's true. I think I will always stick with the X52 series, if mine ever fails me. They are great for what you pay. Not an elite flyer who wants replicas of everything. I don't know where some of them get the money they spend to play LO or Falcon. I have seen some pits that cost thousands of dollars, right down to the ejection set. A complete step in nose cone. Now I am sure everyone would love one but the cost is way way out of my reach. I am happy with what I have. Do you use any of the Tracker Ir's? I hear and see on the forums, that a lot of people have issues, especially running Vista but xp as well and some swear by it. From what I read it gives an extra sensation to the game, when it works. Is there anyone here that still uses V1.02 exclusively. I have a question on Weapons not showing on the MFD display when you input your own. this only happens with the F15C. If I use the preset ones, no problem but if I build one and use LOPE to make a change and input into weapons list, they will not show on the MFD.Cheers, it's great talking with you. Have a good day!! -
Hi guy's: got a question. I have added the AIM54C to my list for the F15C. I made a New Amraam with the 54c,120,7,9 and fuel, No problem there, shows up in selection of weapons. The problem is in the cockpit MFD, it only shows the aim7 and 9 rest is blank. If I use the lockOn ones, no problem. Used the lope program, checked the Meint.xml and everything looks normal , encyclopedia shows the AIM54C , it is in the Shapes folder also and Eweapons. I don't know why it will not show in the MFD. Added some to the MIG29 and no problem. Hope someone has an idea. Cheers.

Saitek x52 useless in LOMAC?
rattler1 replied to CollapseSociety's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Buff: Glad to hear you have one that is giving no problems, great. I always use the SST program. I set the X52 in game, check the keyboard keys and make a list of changes if any then build an SST Profile. This should be the proper way to use the X52 or X52 Pro. I would suggest though that you do not update your SST program that is working for you. New updates have been knowen to give problems. I have had my X52 since the 1st year they came out and I still use the same SST program. If it ain't broken don't try to fix it. Other hardware sometimes requires a driver update but I have found, I use xp home sp2 that sometimes you should not update if you can't go back. I have an ATI graphics card and use 7.7, they are up to 8.?. Tried latest but gave problems which brings me to this statement, I find that if there is any Vista associated fixes with the updates that windows xp does not like it one bit. If it is just for windows xp then I will make a decision on if I update or not. I know that all these KB updates has slowed the system down a bit but I take them. They come with an uninstall so I can get rid of some if they give a problem. Has happened in past. Anyway thanks for the info, love the X52 series. Got a little info for you if you find that your joystick seems a little to loose. Just pull down on the spring fit a bushing of your own making, piece of cake and let it fit up into the base where the spring enters the joystick. 50 cent fix. $400 plus for a Cougar. That was a tip on LOFC forum. Works perfect. Oh the reason I am here in this forum now is I went back to V1.02. Starforce gave me hardware problems and probably some software as well so I cleaned it off but I think a reformat is the only way to make sure you get it all. If someone says it cause them no problems , they don't realize just what it is doing. Scary. A mini OS with its own directives. I was one of the people that lost a brand new dvd rw. Only the CD-r"s are safe from it. I think it is because you can copy with an RW so it rewrites the Burner codes and eventually it will not function at all. Sorry for such a long reply. Cheers and again thanks for your info. -
Saitek x52 useless in LOMAC?

X52 Pro has issues. Use the Original SST software for the X52. I have an X52 and it has never given me any problems, but I stay with the original SST program. -
I have been looking for a while for Voice Recognition software that was easy to use, make my own profiles and had good support. I looked at Voice Buddy 3 and several others, then I stumbled on VAC, at www.dwvac.com. Was very impressed with what was offered , especially the price. It does a great job and really gets you into the game. I just thought since I did some leg work , I would share what I found and I think anyone who tries VAC as I have will be pleasently supprised. I must say it is mostly for SP but it does other things as well. Just my 2 cents worth if anyone is looking for software of this kind, you should look at VAC. There are lots out there , this just helps narrow the field. Cheers.
