Awesomely good! I very much like the way your modeling is so clean, it looks very life-like!
  2. Interesting idea, I will give it a whirld when I next have the possibility to do so (away for the weekend, no joystick and no time )
  3. Small correction, it was JeanBa and not Coupi in this instance which provided the pix, merci! Can anyone find a detailed pic of the ATLIS or ATLIS II tgp? Preferably mounted on the F.1 but any old pic would do!
  4. F/A 18H

Well, IMO the Hornet has the engines so close together that the chances of the second engine surviving is greatly diminshed, IIRC the Soviets designed the MiG-29 and Su-27 like they did to have some distance between engines and thus increase survivability. Personally I also think that the GripenNG is looking good, esp. cost wise, but will probably not offer much capability growth over the F/A-18C. Sukhoit T50 is more like it But FDF has some kind of serious mistrust of Russian arms , they even removed the Sa-11 Buk-M1 SAMs from service because they thought the Russians could somehow counter these magically. Guess the Georgian war proved them wrong, when one RuAf Tu-22m3 was downed by a Buk (don't know if that was ever confirmed though).
  5. Personally I think we have the MiG-17s well covered by Starys awesome pits. As for awesome MiG-15pits didnt Crizis have something in the works right here at combatace?
  6. Someone's got a crush on the new DLC i see
  7. F/A 18H

Well, the F-18H would be a good replacement for the A-7 and F-4 when they get too old, something abit heavier and more... substantial than the F-16 or M2K. But yeah, if you have financial problems new fighter jets should probably not be the first thing or your agenda. I can't see Finland ever affording to replace our classic Hornets the way the prices keep rising.. Maybe JF17? Lol.
  8. Thanks guys, I hope we can give you this bird to fly really soon. Also because of low res damage textured ruined one of my action shots I decided to make some new ones. Downsize: five 2048*2048 TGA files with full alpha weigh in at 80mb... Total destruction: Lighter destruction:

LOL @ MigBuster Seriously though, the conformal fuel tanks make the SH look better.. probably makes it even less agile tho.. The weapon pod looks like ass though and does not appear to hold very much. I'd still pick this over the F-35C.
  12. Ok guys, now the cockpit is 99% done. The BF RWR works, the mapping is set up so that the arrows are mapped to the whole circle ie the radar contacts does not need to be exactly at 000, 090, 180 or 270 degrees to show up. The downside is that the arrows look a little strange when illuminated. I also added more detailed labels and stuff to the cockpit thanks to Coupis excellent shots, I could use a few more to show the radio panel behind the stick et cetera but I think it is fairly ok now. Also added reflection to the gauges, in the first shot I am dropping flares to show the detail better so the reflection is maybe clearer than normally. I almost laughed when I considered that originally I asked for the max files from Brain32 just to "adjust some UV coordinates on the frame", and that really was my intention. Talk about feature creep. But without his original work I am 100% I would not have gotten this far! So thank you!

  16. Bringing some hurt I wonder if they have jet fuel over here? Seems like the Defenders of Baghdad have defected to Saudi Arabia. I LOL'd at this, was the campaign engine who did this all on its own.

  20. Ok that is what I thought Brain, doesn't work (yet) but maybe I did some mistake. Thx!
  21. Here is the RWR, now to figure out how to make the directional arrows work.. If you check out the Mig-21 cockpits avaliable they have the SPO-15 RWR, consisting of four lights, and I have tried to copy this approach but is is difficult when I cant see how it is mapped in 3ds max. No success so far but I'll keep trying. If anyone has a working example and are willing to share please do so! [RWR] Type=3_RING AirSearchTexture=Cockpit\newrwr\RWR1.tga AirTrackTexture=Cockpit\newrwr\RWR2.tga AirLockTexture=Cockpit\newrwr\RWR3.tga GroundSearchTexture=Cockpit\newrwr\RWR1.tga GroundTrackTexture=Cockpit\newrwr\RWR2.tga GroundLockTexture=Cockpit\newrwr\RWR3.tga SearchPosition=0.0 TrackPosition=0.4 LockPosition=01.3715 SearchSize=0.01 TrackSize=0.315 LockSize=1.0 SearchFlash=TRUE SearchFlashRate=0.4 TrackFlash=TRUE TrackFlashRate=0.2 LockFlash=TRUE LockFlashRate=0.1 TrackSound=RWRTrackSound.wav LockSound=RWRLockSound.wav
  22. Hi guys, I know a lot of you have experimented a lot with different material settings in 3ds max for the external mesh, could anyone of you show your setting (preferably in a picture or two) that gets good result? Thank you in advance!!
  23. For normal maps, do you just tick the bump map and then load the file?
  24. Hi mate, good work on that skin! Regarding the nose, you can try to have a layer above it with fain opacity depicting dirty metal or worn paint or so.. go to www.cgtextures.com and have a lookie. Another possibilty is selecting the original black nose and using hue/saturation/lightness + brightness and contrast to make it light gray, that way it will retain some of its weathering..
