  1. *Ahem* I actually have an old model i started way back in 2008 for Armed Assault but sort of stopped working on, it is a tad low poly but nothing some meshsmoothing cant fix. It would actually be a quite nice and simple project, if a cockpit already exists that is?

Two pretty good links there, and while I sort-of agree with Grinch that UV-mapping is one of those things you only get better at by doing, but I also know all too well the feeling when you are hitting a wall and feeling like you are not getting anywhere. So I'd be glad to unwrap some models for you and maybe give some pointers along the way, maybe it will help you seeing your own models unwrapped to get a feeling for unwrapping? And seriously, UVmapping a plane is relatively straightforward compared to organic shapes so I can't see this making such a dent in my spare time!
  7. I'd like to help! I actually like uvmapping just for the sake of it enabling me to get to the juciy part of texturing! And I think I can give you some pointers too in the process. Gotta hit the sack now since the missus is waiting but shoot me a PM!

  11. Sure Stary, I actually started a Viggen exterior models a few months back, it is still very early WIP, but yeah it's planned after all the other planned projects PM me with it, though! If it follows the trend of other models from back then it will be pretty ultra low poly but something is better than nothing! Also, how do I set the reflection texture in the ini?
  12. Thx all for your comments! Jules: I could post the flats yeah if you want to see them, they are not one hundred percent done but... Are there any tutorials anywhere how to set up the different gauge-types and the radar? I could just continue to do it trial and error but it would be faster and more productive to just have a tut, esp. the radar seems complex. How do you do warninglights, from looking at the ini for the previous MiG25PD cockpit it seems to be a matter of moving the different lights or can they be toggled to be visible / hidden somehow?

I have that problem too sometimes, but with the latest patches the behavior has been better, now they dont jettison unless engaged directly or I tell them to engage air, otherwise they quite gladly keep in formation. I usually try to avoid mig formations if I can to keep problems at a minimum. But more control over the wingmen would be nice!

  15. I think I am going to make the next simple cockpit I do a tutorial at the same time. I have promised to do the MiG29SMT, so that is next on the list, but after that it's the Draken I think. And I am really interested in making a F-5 pit too. Anyways, I decided to take the plunge and try to export the pit into the game! And amazingly it worked on the first try!! Max didnt crash, the game didnt crash, i didnt have to fiddle around a million inis and try to export a bazillion times like in all other games. Neat! None of the instruments work yet, but performance is silky smooth at 3*2048 dds and 1*1024 dds texture and 47k tris

    First time ingame for the MiG-25PD cockpit. Still some visual stuff to sort out, only diffuse maps so far..

  18. But I am really with stratos on this one, after flying on maps tiled with Starys very nice tiles with trees-a-plenty, the Desert feels pretty bare. The new hi-res tiles are great, now it just needs some trees imho!
  19. Take your time boys, you are doing a great job! Just watch out for the feature creep Also, RE: what are you using for the J-35 cockpit? As I am quite interested in doing it, it looks quite simple as a change :P And does anyone have pictures of the early J-35 cockpit ie no radar?
  20. Nice! That draken model looks very nice. What are you using for cockpit? I thought the B variant was the guns only (and IR aams?) fighter, whereas the C was the first truly all weather interceptor with SARH missiles?
