About Mur

  1. I would like slightly modify my above post: I experience the trouble aforementioned with the terrains americaNW and AE (it should be madagascar). I have tried with several planes, both empty and loadout with tanks. IN both cases I get extremely slow aircrafts. To be more specific, the plane has a low acceleration on the runway, while when I take off the speed increases as it should. Best regards, Mur
  2. Hi all, and hope to not create mess with this topic. I have installed several 3rd party terrains, and followed LITERALLY ALL OF the instructions given here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=12230 I can use maps in Wings over Vietnam, airfields work well, but I have a problem with my aircraft when I take off: even with no missiles and tanks, the aircraft is very SLOW and needs more than the runway to get the proper speed for the take off. This happens ONLY with my aircraft, since the wingman can take off properly. This happens with AmericaNW and AmericaNWgreen terrains. Does anyone has the same problem, and/or can understand the reason of this behavior and/or solutions? I have imported other terrains like Israel2, Salomon islands, Himalaya, Falkland, and I have NOT the same problem wiht them. Best regards, Mur
  3. ACM suggestion needed

Thanks a lot, both to paul and to cargo. Of course I know that my question is too wide, and there is not a unique answer. But in any case I have learned some tecnique I can use. More specifically, I usually (almost always) use the F14A (or D) for dogfighting, and my favourite opponents are MiG 17 and MiG 21, even if MiG 25 and 29 are good guys too. In my opinion, it would be great if some tutorial material about ACM would appear in this section of the forum. Best regards, Mur
  4. Hu guys. First of all, I think the idea of such a forum is great. Second, my question -trying to be as more concrete as possible: sometimes in a dogfight, 1vs1, I have the bandit on my tail. In your opinion, what is the best manouvring I should make in order to put myself on the tail of the bandit? I can try to turn on the left or on the right, but these turns cause a decreasing of my speed. Or, I increase my altitude and my speed, but I lose a lot of fuel. I have tried an inverted S, decreasing my altitude but earning kinetic energy; often this is not useful, since the bandit is faster than me and is able to follow me. What do you usually do in this situation? Greetings, Mur.
  5. As an Italian guy, I can only tell you: thanks a lot, usafmtl !
  6. Pretty kind suggestion. Since I have the Italian version of the game, the OKAY should be the ACCEPT key? anyway also pressing such a key, nothing happens. P.S. of course I do not die during the champaign, I simply press ESC once I have accepted the result of the succesfull mission.
  7. Hi all, I have looked for this in the forum but I have not been able to find the answer. My question is: when I start a new champaign, I am asked to save to a file, usually it is "Campagna di TopHarley.4", or something like that. When I finish a mission in the aforementioned champaign and I press ESC to close the game, and the day after I try to open the champaign, I am not able to find the file and I have to start again from the beginning my champaign. What am I missing? Thanks a lot, Mur
  8. Usually the heatseeker A2A missiles (like the Sidewinder) do not need any RADAR locking of the target: indeed, as the name HEATSEEKER suggests, the head is auto acquiring, in the sense that it feels a heat source with no need of a radar acquisition of the target. To understand if there is a lock of the target you have to listen to the sound: when you select a Sidewinder, there is a soft sound which becomes harder if the head of the missile has locked a target. It is NOT a radar locking. I usually use hard settings in my WoV, and my dogfights are sight-based, in the sense that I use the map and the indications of Red Crown to understand where the enemies are, and soon after I try a visual contact. In this way there is no need of boxes on the target. If you have a look to the Thirdwire forum, you can find some useful tricks for using a SIdewinder in a dogfight. I stress again: the heat seeker does not need a radar locking. The red box on the enemy, when you want to catch it by a sidewinder, is purely fictional. Hoping this is helpful, Mur
  9. Hi All, I wonder if it would be possible, in WoV, to add a button to switch off/on the gunsight, as can be done for the radar. Regards from the first temple of the Zodiac, Mur
  10. I have done exactly in this way and now it WORKS properly ! Thanks a lot, Mur
  11. Yes it blows up. I have posted in the general discussion topic this problem, but I have not solved yet.
  12. Unfortunately this does not help. Indeed in the last release of the israel2 terrain there is a .ini file devoted to WOV and in such a file the pointed CatFile is already setted to VIetnamSEA.cat.......
  13. Hi all, I have a problem with the Israel2 terrain by Gepard. The terrain is pretty cool but if I start the mission on a runway, my plane blows up and I die. I use WOV with service pack installed and the last weapon pack. Hoping this is not an already discussed topic. Best regards, Mur
  14. The terrain is pretty cool but there is a thing that I do not understand: If I start my mission on a runway, my plane blows at the beginning. What the hell is this ?????
  15. Hi, the video is pretty cool and its music too. I wonder if low flying is a good tactice to avoid enemy's radar also in the simulator WoV. Mur
