There's some very nice screenshots on the new site including some nice ones of damaged cars and weather effects which you can see by clicking here. Also there is news of how multiplayer will work as some players don't like the fact that RACE used Steam for multiplay, well Steam will be used again where you can race with up to 24 players or AI online but if you don't like Steam (personally I don't have a problem with it) you can opt to install and play offline only which takes away the need for installing Steam. However if you want to play online you must still use Steam. It probably won't please everyone but its a fair compromise. There's going to be 14 tracks from aroudn the world including Brands Hatch, Zandvoort, Macau and Monza. There will also be three tracks included that are not used in the WTCC but there have been no details released as yet. There will be a nice array of cars on offer from the WTCC 2006 and 2007 seasons, there will also be some classic cars from the 1987 WTCC, F3000, Mini's, Caterhams, Radicals and Formula BMW cars. Release date is autumn 2007, you can read more at the official site here.

New RACE '07 website is now online

Apparently if you click here: http://www.vgp.se/instructions.do and scroll down to the red box labelled 'Ladda Ner' thre is a 5mb file which when loaded into Steam opens up to around 400mb and is a early playable demo shown to a Swedish groups of racers> I've not tried it as I don't want to spoil the game for me, early demos can be dissapointing and not very representative of the final game so I think I'll wait. -

Yeah the new cars will be nice, the Formula BMW mod for rFactor is my favourite open wheel mod so its going to be interesting to see Simbin's take on that vehicle. I also like Steam, even with a CD copy though no messing around with a CD and infact once I'd installed and registered RACE through Steam once the next time I installed it after an OS re-install Steam just let me download it so if you lose your CD all is not lost. I think some racers felt Steam had too much control over what you did with the game as everythign was encrypted but I like that fact that I had one sim I could load up and play online without worrying about mismatches. If I want to play mods I have rFactor and GTR2. From reading the RACE '07 website though they will allows players to use their own skins online in the next version so that may be acceptable to those who did'nt like Steam for that reason. -
Good to hear you're enjoying your new stick

I was looking forward to picking this up at the end of the week but according to a few online retailers who are usually pretty good with release dates are showing the release will now be at the end of August :( (24/08/07)

Perhaps not as realistic as Forza 2 but a hell of a lot of fun particularly online with a few friends with the built in voice comms. Its due out on the 9th of November and there has been speculation that Bizarre had to cut content out to fit it all onto one disc, well the montage of screenshots linked below seems to prove that theory has no real substance. Nice lighting and even nicer looking weather, the circuits as always with the PGR series look very realistic. I remember a set of screenshots comparing various tracks with their real life locations from PGR3 and it was difficult to tell them apart! Gamersyde.com screenshot montage

The official Forza 2 website has news of a free Nissan car pack and a payware Peugot 908 car which came second in this years 24hrs of Le Mans race, the Peugot cost 50 MS points.

You can download the 900mb demo from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Hopefully this will take away the nasty taste left from the poor Nascar 08 demo.

I tried adding your gamertag today, I could'nt add an underscore and didn't think it was possible to have anything but letters so I input the name 'ODB Fates'

Champ Car Mod for rFactor

I had a quick blast a week or two ago, the cars handle nicely, not as twitchy as an F1 car perhaps a little more forgiving. Nice mod and well worth downloading. -
OK will do, gotta try this demo again later as someone mentioned a 'simulation' setting I might have missed. I am quite enjoying it though, different kind of racing from cars so I think this will go on my shopping list for next week when its released here in the UK. BTW How about a sticky thread with CombatACE members gamertags? maybe we could get a few of us together now and then?

Damn! I guess its too late to hide?

Pretty good demo, the AI hopefully is set to easy on the demo as I had no problem in overtaking. The control method took a bit of getting used to as the triggers act as front and rear brake with the right analogue being accelerate and brake. It made a nice change from Forza 2 and the demo is using one of my favourite tracks - Laguna Seca!

I've just emailed Debby McDowell at CH Products to see if she can help with the name of a supplier. You could try Provantage as they are pretty cheap but they may not ship that far, worth an email though. Should you have any other questions I'll try and keep an eye on this thread, alternatively you could visit the CH Hangar where the CH guys and gals hang out.

Yeah he was a bit silly, perhaps more light entertainment because up until the appearance of Optimus Prime the film had an adult feel to it (no not that kind of adult! get you're minds out of the gutter! ) The bit where they are outside the boys home was a little camp, hiding from the parents but it was a really enjoyable film with gasps and laughs drawn from the audience I was part of.

I was looking forward to it but had a feeling it might be a little bit of a letdown as you tend to build films before watching them but this was just a great action flick from start to finish. Spidey 3 was ok, Shrek 3 was funny but maybe not as good as the original and Pirates 3 was a big dissapointment to me. Megan Fox....hubba hubba!!!

Saw the film tonight WOW! Best film this year IMO, amazing special effects and good to see they didn't just blow the budget on 15 minutes of special effect laden action it was great all the way through, great film well worth watching!

I have just finihed downloading the demo for Nascar 08 on the Xbox Live Marketplace. First impressions - it seems pretty good, the demo is limited though so you can't do any setup which is a shame as I'd like to have seen how much tinkering is available. One track and limited opponents - not giving much away EA!
