Operation Odyssey Dawn
ST0RM replied to Peugeot205's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Cangas, I'm assuming you are doing more of the Unified Protector mission versus Odyssey Dawn, since that only lasted 7 days. Your unit list will be much larger, since OpUP lasted so long. -

Thank you for the updated terrain. They've given a ton of life to the default dead air bases. -Jeff -

Carrier Ops in the Desert
ST0RM replied to Piecemeal's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Campaign aside, did you get it to work in Single Mission? Your naval aircraft taking off from a CV? Is it required to have SF:NA installed? I've got my merged install up to March 12 patch level but the game does not recognize the terrain after the NAVALMAP=TRUE add. So I'm thinking it needs SF:NA. -Jeff -
SF2 Vietnam, Carriers?
ST0RM replied to MSPV12's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
If I don't have SF:NA installed with my merged installs, is that my issue? -
SF2 Vietnam, Carriers?
ST0RM replied to MSPV12's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Sid, Where do you put that text? In the [Terrain] section or [MAP]? I edited the map and added the line above, but the terrain then wouldn't show in the menu window. -Jeff -

Very nice. At first glance, I note the walkways on the upper fuselage. Excellent! -
SF2: North Atlantic
ST0RM replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Knowledge Base
It's been noted with the Mar 12 patch. If you've been here long enough, you'll notice each new patch has a tendency to break as much stuff as it adds. -

DA, I had to go back and re-read his post after reading yours. I got what he is wanting to do now. Again, without having the campaign ini in front me, couldn't we already do this by adding the MOVEBASECHANCE tag in the squadron line? I know it works for the shore based units. How many USN squadrons came back for a second go during Rolling Thunder, Lineback I & II, while the ship went home? -
SF2: North Atlantic
ST0RM replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Knowledge Base
Did they actually do that? I know they crossed decked at times if they had battle damage, low fuel or their primary ship wasnt able to accept arrivals at that time. -
C-17A in th first pic and T-45C Goshawk in the second. Nice day at KTYS.

Gotta find me a copy of RSR now. -
Yep. A ton of tankers in that region. Lincoln, Wichita, Topeka, Oklahoma City, Altus all have -135 units. Could have been any one of us.

That A-6 screen is sick! The res is perfect and shows off the populated flightdeck perfectly.

How to use Flir camera pod?
ST0RM replied to warrior94's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yes we do. True FLIR is not, by default, included into the game by itself. You can use the IR camera from a IR AGM missile (AGM-65), or if you've added the camera to your aircraft, shifting through the radar functions should get you to where you can see the "FLIR screen". The MF RF-4 is a really good example of this. -

Yep, Ive already posted this over on the TW board as a bug with the March 12 patch. The C-47s were my indicators. -
SF2 Vietnam, Carriers?
ST0RM replied to MSPV12's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
By default, I don't think so. I'm not able to see the Vietnam campaign ini files right now. In real life, yes, they do attach to a CVW. -
SF2 Vietnam, Carriers?
ST0RM replied to MSPV12's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yes. USN squadrons fly from carriers, USAF and USMC squadron are land based in the campaigns. -

SF2:NA F-14 Avionics Problem in Non-NA Mods Installs
ST0RM replied to Geary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Can't you just run the SF:NA exe and run a Vietnam mission from within SF:NA since it's merged? You'd get all the bells and whistles that way. With my merged install, I dont run any other executables, just the SF2 and fly the other terrains/games. Just a thought.
